@@ashleighlancaster1683 I don’t think anyone thought the content itself was bad but the lack of the developers listening. We were asking for things such as skin tones and memories but got Star Wars. Which was very upsetting to a lot of people. That’s why it was made out to be so bad

The other $20 packs were cheaper than this so I didn’t expect it to be good and we got to vote what we wanted for them a lot of the time. I don’t agree with everything that was made. And by the way the basic update for skin tones is what upset people I don’t think anyone really care about the aliens

I wish the beds came in all the wood tones / metal tones and had all the blanket designs for each bed if that makes sense? like if you like a blanket design from one bed but want it with a different frame. drives me nuts when there's a nice bed frame that only comes in floral prints or a certain tone of colors

Yes! Like they had in the Sims 2. It was awesome to be able to use the base you wanted with the bedding of your choice 😊

they really should have made the color swatches for lots of things seperate. one for the frame, one for the cover, and maybe one for the pillows too, same goes for a lot of other items also in cas

@simlicy totally agree on the point about beds at 18:15, I also think it would be such a good idea for them to re-introduce when sims could leave the bed unmade!

I wish they had fleshed out the onsen tradition a bit more. like actually being able to use the bucket instead of just showering. another huge miss? futons . . .like, in traditional houses I would expect to sleep on a futon and not a western bed. Thinking of a huge western bed on delicate Japanese tatami floor is like nails on a chalkboard. WHY DIDNT THEY PUT FUTONS IN THIS PACK!?!?!?!?!? Or maybe they just didn't mention futon? I'm hoping at least the zabutons by the kotatsu can be placed separately. I appreciate the sims is trying to be more inclusive, but there are definitely still some improvements to be made

I think the most exciting part of this was the mossy rocks, I audibly gasped when I saw those. I have wanted moss in this game for AGES. (also the whole aesthetic of this pack is amazing, I haven't resonated with a pack's aesthetics this much since university)

You could do the same for "no matching " which pretty much sums up TS4 and the official packs. The woodtones are definitely nice, I just wish they'd treat everything with the same regard.

@@faithleeper3609 Yeah, me too! It would be great if someone made a "Snowy Escape Plus" CC pack like there's been with Tiny Living and Eco Lifestyle. Also if they could mod more lifestyles and sentiments and add the sliders that are coming for makeup to other parts of CAS that would be so awesome.

I live in Japan and I think they did an awesome job on this! The toilets with the million different buttons on them, the vending machines (there are vending machines EVERYWHERE in Japan) and other little details that make this very well represented of Japan 😊😊😊

We could add a bidet to the toilet and pretend the buttons are for a heated seat with temperature controls (makes sense in a snowy world). The West needs to adopt heated toilet seats

Ok so I don’t wanna sound too much of a crybaby but seriously WHY DIDNT THEY ADD MATCHING CABINETS ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU CAN PUT OBJECTS IN THEM?! Plus they could’ve added matching tea cups with the plates/bowls clutter too! like that lowkey punched me with a wave of disappointment. Also I was expecting for some bamboo trees/plants in pots. Some waterfall even tho it is winter themed. Thought they were gonna add some rugs/carpets suitable for the theme as well. They also missed adding futons since ya know this is Japanese inspired after all. BUUUT despite of all the misses I am VERY excited for a lot of things in this pack. So baby if you’re watching this - I want this for Christmas xoxo!

Since the benches for the picnic table don't LOOK attached, I think it would even work as a dining room table indoors in some builds

Good idea. One simmer separated the stools from the Journey to Batuu picnic table to make a matching set and made them basegame compatible (that picnic table was one of the pack's redeeming qualities)

I too miss upper kitchen cabinets, not everyone enjoys the Joanna Gaines look, but I guess closed ones would have looked weird with the open shelf like lower cabinets, so they'd have to leave them open too or give them glass doors or something to make them not look too chunky. I wish you'd have shown the different cabinet options, sometimes the smaller end pieces and such reveal cool differences, like the one from Island Living.

I really appreciate that this pack has so many different wood tones and neutral colour options. Too many packs recently have furniture and items that are nice individually but are really hard to match with stuff from the base game or from other packs.

i think it's so great how the sims is trying to make more culturally aware packs and actively trying to make the content and builds etc culturally appropriate however i wish you as a game changer and someone who helped create this pack had educated yourself a bit more on some of the cultural objects like the ikebana and the tatami mats for example so you could say the names correctly and maybe just know what they are and why they are culturally significant but i still luv u hen

I saw that kind of fence is used as a partition on onsen bath, either to divide the male onsen and female onsen or just work as a wall. I don't think the fence in the game is created to use as regular fence, that why they didn't add matching gate. But yeah it will be better if they add them

E.g. with the sofa (20:38), I wish the swatches of the object were broken up into three categories: the cushions, the pillows and the sofa frame. It makes the objects etc. not very versatile...or "diverse," when one swatch affects the whole object.

While I am not an expert in Japanese, I have studied it. The biggest pronunciation issues I've noticed with simmers who are not used to Japanese, is the elongation of the syllables; saying Daa Roo Maa instead of da ru ma. The other issue I've noticed people struggling with is merging the syllables together; Mount Komorebi becomes Co-more-by instead of Co-mo-re-be Ko= co of cold mo= start of molten re= start of red bi=be not bye. Doesn't bother me, but you sounded worried about the pronunciation. Hope that helps.

This is probably one of the few build/buys I've seen in a Sims 4 pack where most of the unique gimmicky items actually work together in ways that allow someone to create more stuff in that style. Usually their for single use or only work under specific circumstances.

Awesome overview, I can't wait for the pack to come out!! 16:56 Fun fact: I live in the Azores, which is a Portuguese archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and in fact, most of our islands (except for one, which is the oldest) do have dark sand on the beaches! If you search it you'll see that we have many beautiful landscapes as well 😊😊

I'm so sad... I was waiting to buy Eco Lifestyle when on sale and this pack totally made me change my mind, I will wait for this one. Well... I wanted both but EA did leave the absurd prices the same here in Brazil (And I know in other countries too). I think making a game is a profession, but more importantly is for the buyers to have fun. Seeing all of this, remembering when I could buy it and now I can't, breaks my heart. Anyways, loves the sims, EA made a good job on this one.

Love Love LOVE this pack already and can't wait for it..I've been playing the Sims since Sims 1 back when I was 5 and I am absolutely amazed at how far EA has come with this game.. The only thing that is a little annoying is the fireplace options.. I like the two that are coming and will use them. but why is there not going to be a wood stove? in a snowy world...Like a realistic one with the piping like they had in Sims 2. I feel like that is the only thing that is missing for me...

The carp streamer in 37:34 is called koinobori in Japanese, and they're often seen flown on Children's Day, which is on May 5 in Japan. Edit: I'm not done, apparently, because 40:57 is not just any old bird sculpture, but a giant-ass origami crane. In Japan, it is believed that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the gods.

the sand floor is for outdoor gardening. japanese yards sometimes have a section with nothing but sand and rocks in geometric patterns.
