I graduated this year in April 2022 and this song was playing in my heart. I had to put my blood, sweat and tears onto my degree and I made it! Now I'm doing my Honours in Information Systems at the University of the Western Cape and all I hope for is to succeed in life. All I can say to the future generation is to dream big and do not let your circumstances stop you from achieving your dreams. Ubomi bunzima kodwa abumanga, every storm passes by and things will eventually get better in time. I'm young myself but I have high hopes for my future. Update October 2024: God has been good on my side. The storms passed indeed and I have evolved as a person. I'm now a remarkable young man who is still chasing his dreams. Looking back on my life I wouldn't change a thing, the path to where I am now was not easy and the journey still is long but Simmy's We Were Here will remain my guide through and through.
