Had a teacher in primary school called Mrs Robinson. The whole school (only about 100 kids) got together and sung this to her on her 50th birthday. I'll never forget that day.

I loved this song growing up in my life. I had a neighbour called Mrs Robinson. She had got over such Hardship in her life. Death of husband, being burgled, brought all her four kids up. And was chatty and alive. But, as it happens to all of us she died but at 94. I used to bake buns for her and take her a newspaper and buns or chocolate most weeks. Now the house is empty and on the market. Each time I go shopping I see the rack with newspapers in, see the treats I would have bought her so I cant put her out of my mind. I am in awe of her strength and her long life. Rest in peace you lovely old Lady. X x

yeah like he said is that bad or good?
@Reggie2000 Жыл бұрын
I think he is saying it is special not because it was part of some major life moment, but rather because it was a constant part of a time in his life. Not an exciting time, but rather just there and part of it. I feel that way about a lot of 80s songs that played non-stop on the radio when I was a kid, and when hearing them, make me reminisce about that time period generically. Like the soundtrack to a film set in the 80s.

My late Father had an 8 track of "Bridge over Troubled Water" and he played it constantly on his 8 track player back in the early 70's. I Never stopped liking them or their music to this day, and have all their albums on CD. I have even made a "Best of" CD for my own pleasure. God Bless you Both Paul and Art.

This song will remain a classic forever, Simon and Garfunkel are simply incredible! The Joe DiMaggio line hits hard though , I wasn’t alive to see him play but he represented what the US was all about in a time of uncertainty and hopelessness when heroes where in short supply…
