This man is so eloquent and well-spoken. I could listen to him talk for hours. He needs a podcast talking about the NXT: Black & Gold era.

As a wrestling magazine collector, I totally agree with what Simon says about the PWI 500. I feel the 1991 - 2000 era for it seemed more special, because it seemed 75% of those listings you knew the wrestlers. Now though, it's so many indy guys that I never heard of. It just feels like a shell of its former self. I remember reading the 1991 - 2000 ones religiously back then, but I was also 10 years - 19 years old during those times. Maybe that had a lot with how I felt about the PWI 500 then. As a jaded 43 year old now, I just do a lot of, "who the hell is this??" when reading it now.

I think it’s a lot easier to connect with (and fixate on) any current art form when you’re younger like that. You could probably say the same for music on the radio.

Very well spoken, at this point is there any person of any year one could rank at #1. You can think main stream like Reigns Omega during the pandemic or a HBK and Guerrero during their years but how do you truly rank a #1 when it comes down to air time, main stream attention and opportunities given. Think about a Dynamite Kidd or a Benoit, if they weren't given the time an opportunities they were given they may have still been the best during their time, but most wouldn't have seen the pure iconic talents they were shown to be with what they were provided.

I think there’s a “the cream always rises” counter argument the old guard of wrestling would argue here. Now that’s quite obviously BS, but that’s what they would say
