"Sail" is a song by American electronic rock band Awolnation. It was written and produced in Venice, California by group member Aaron Bruno, with Kenny Carkeet performing the audio engineering. The song was first featured on the band's debut extended play Back from Earth (2010) and was later featured on their debut album Megalithic Symphony (2011).
Released as a single on January 4, 2011, "Sail" is the band's most commercially successful song to date. It debuted at number 89 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart in September 2011, spending 20 weeks on the chart before dropping out. The single re-entered the Hot 100 a year later, becoming a massive sleeper hit and reaching a new peak of number 17. It has spent the second longest time inside the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with 79 weeks, only surpassed by Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive".
Awolnation (usually stylized as AWOLNATION) is an American electronic rock band, formed and fronted by Aaron Bruno, formerly of Under the Influence of Giants, Hometown Hero, and Insurgence. The band is signed to Red Bull Records,[3] and their first EP, Back from Earth, was released on iTunes on May 18, 2010.[4] They released their first studio album, Megalithic Symphony, on March 15, 2011; it featured their most notable hit, "Sail", which peaked at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100,[5] #4 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart,[6] and #5 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.[7] The song has been certified 6× platinum by the RIAA[8] and has sold 5,500,000 copies in the United States.[9] As of December 16, 2014, the album has been certified Gold.

Holy Shit! Amazing recording, great audio, bass bumps nice, great beat. Awesome compilation of parts. I love how you're basically playing two guitar parts on one acoustic at the same time and throwing in the bass kick too with your palm, really slick! The only thing I was hoping for was the high ring harmonic it was missing at the end of the hook right before the word "sail"; but nevertheless it's still an amazing rendition along with perfect vocals too. :)

Well... What to say ? I'm not used of posting comments, but I was pretty submerged by your prestation here. See, I use to perform this song since its first release (just for fun, huh), so I'm well-placed to understand that it's not much about vocal skills, unlike it seems. I have to say that you just did it the best way, with no overinterpretation, arrogance or anything like that... Which is a real trap on this one, I swear ! Technically, you just block your breath in the right point in your neck. That's even pretty kicky when you come to saturated notes (ending the most of verses). I'm not a very talented guitarist, so I can just say that it's very good, clean, professional and well-written ! Had to say a word about your drum work on the guitar through, which is a perfect support for your breathing out. I guess you already know this as well, but that's a very difficult way to sing in the long run, and you're holding a pretty amazing skill on that ! So keep that as long as you can :) Thanks from my ears, thank you for all ! I know who to listen these days :)
