There's no single correct way to play disc golf. Yes, prizes are given to those who get the lowest score per round but it is equally solid way to play the game by attempting weird and astounding ways to score each hole, even if the total result suffers. Like with any other thing in life are no rules besides law, you do what you like. Simon clearly prefers to have fun and take risks with individual holes more than average player and I appreciate that. I do (or: did) that too although my old hand is much much weaker and now a bit crippled too.

If you took Peak Climo (assume the course matched what he had for his time), Peak Paul, Peak Ricky and Peak Simon and gave every player 4 rounds then totaled the sum of best into 1 round, Simon would win. He has eagles nobody else has heard or thought about.

My home course is harry meyers outside dallas. Back when the nick hyde memorial was an a tier, eagle, ricky, paul etc were out playing it. They added mandos on 2 or 3 holes solely because they saw lines even john houck didnt anticipate lol

I'd agree if the game isn't always changing... We went from Frisbees to 14 speeds in 40 years. Are you silly enough to suggest course designers 40 years ago should have envisioned the technology and skill increases? This is the reason I say EVERY disc manufacturer needs to make prices $100+ per disc. Make the level of entry harder. They don't have asshats on the DG level in ball golf or other sports unless a homeless dude with $16 can get started... I support tee fees and taking the burden off of the tax payers... Which also limits the low value people I want nothing to do with playing with us on the course. 😂
