While everyone else was going crazy over the Beatles I was listening to S&G albums over and over. Their harmony was so good and their words painted pictures in my brain.

I was one of those going crazy over the Beatles and listening to and loving Simon & Garfunkel as well.

From their great album "Bookends". I got this LP when it first came out in the 60s. They sang "How terribly strange to be 70." And now I'm 70. "How terribly strange..." But I still feel like I did back then.

Rich Roberts, I've had the same life trajectory as you. How terribly strange to be seventy, indeed. When I was in my twenties I thought those words were so poetic.

A trick: you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.

How Paul knew to write those words at such a young age? For the first time in a long time, I took note of my birthday this past June and realized I am 73. It really sneaked up on me. How strange indeed.

Did you see how when they were ready to start singing, Garfunkel moved up to sit closer to Simon? Love S&G and this song.

this song is a reverse OZ Moses trance from when I was 2 years old , how can it be anything but hauntingly beautiful because of that regardless of the music or lyrics

It goes back to when they were kids. They would look at each other’s mouths when harmonizing to get it right.

Sweetest harmony ever in my lifetime. Thank you, God, for letting me live during their time. 🙏🏻

That old 70s TV show format made me expect to see Grover or Kermit walk across the screen wanting to participate. LOL!

They got that 70's variety show "unfunny skit before the actual song" down pat though.

The Fmaj7 to Cmaj7 chords of the guitar intro are just so haunting and wistful. A shining example of Simon’s genius, with the song’s essence distilled in a couple of bars.

I once had this vedeo of beta, and gone somewhere with beta. Anyway Paul's Guild F-30R Special sounds so curious. I mean with Brazilian rosewood, this guitar got a very brilliant tone, especially it's hi tone quitely different from others. Another play with Jessie Dixon Singers and Toots Thielman shows us the other instinct with mute play, also can't be heard by Martin nor Gibson. Thank you for your movie 😊
