Carp Fishing ~ Orchid Lakes Carpology Session

I visit Orchid lakes again but this time with Luke from Carpology magazine! I was asked to be involved in filming a video with Carpology and thought I’d make my own video whilst I was there. We headed to Orchid lakes for 48 hours and although it was a tough session, I managed to land a fish on the second night after a swim move. I go through my tactics, rigs, bait and spot choices and also show some behind the scenes footage of Luke filming the video for Carpology. I also chat to luke about how he started photography and videography and how he ended up working for Carpology full time! An interesting insight into how to get into the angling industry and make a living doing what you love.

is a beautiful lake, cant get a moments piece, right next to h cafe, all you can hear is cars, lorries and motorbikes constantly hammering past at 100 mph all day long in the summer, but at least you get to have a headache with a nice view, lol.

Thanks for the video. Simon, do you ever use a fluorocarbon hooklink instead of coated braid, as the water gets clearer? Those three spots you found, how we’re you fishing them? Was it with a tight, semi-slack or slack lines and why? Great to see you’re still loving lots of bacon 👍 All the best & tight lines 🐟🐟🐟

HeyHo Deco I don’t worry so much about fish seeing rigs. To me they just look like a bit of weed or something on the bottom. I was fishing at long range so tight lines for better indication 👍

Hi Simon shame not a big girl but that's fishing. Not an easy water but you gave it a go.Have you tried Broadlands not far for you when getting off the ferry, that's a good winter water nice amenities too,& plenty of space..Till the next vlog..

each to his own fella it’s actually a stunning well run fishery but if that’s not your thing then fair enough
