Simon, Thank you for the review on that Monopod, I just snagged myself one and it is an outstanding bit of kit to be fair, I wish more camera support companies such as Manfrotto etc would adapt their various heads over to a quick release type system such as the one on the iFootage Cobra, that foot pedal is a very nice touch and solid. The ability to attach another Monopod into the system is a very cool feature also. A modular tripod system such as the 3 legged thing is definitely the way to go, with integrating different tripod foot designs such as their stilletto, rock shoes etc. Keep up the good work mate. Allan

Hello Simon . Nice to see you back in the wild and hope you feel better after your roof crash . 🤕 Nice Monopod you have there . Most using tripod here . But anyway is see you have also there in your area strong roe deers and capital bucks 😳 . Interesting to make comparisons that there are big differences from one area to another , for example here in my country also. Huuuu the Z9 and the 500 mm is a huge equipment but good stuff . I prefer smaller systems 😬 . Using the G-9 or G91 with 100 - 400 mm or in night the 40 - 150 mm f/2.8 with a TC 1.4 on it. Night photography of roe deers with red light is a candy for me - you tried it also ever before ? Spring & summer equipment for wildlife here is a " small " set of 4 Fujifilm cameras with max. 70 - 300 mm with TC 1.4 also . One question at last simon : How many FPS can this Z9 films ...same like my X-H1 in 120 FPS ? Best greetings : Harald ( Wald Zauber )

great vid Simon. does it seem to you like it does to me or maybe I'm imagining it - that no matter how "hidden" you are, the direction of the wind, the masking of scent, etc. they still seem somehow to know you are there. in the Whitetail and Mule deer, I'm familiar with and have hunted/photographed, they "don't know for absolute sure" (otherwise they'd already be gone) but they seem to know something is not quite right, it's so uncanny. I've watched other hunters walk by me within 5 to 10 feet and did not have a clue that I was there and could touch them if I wanted to. Only one time was I able to walk up on a young doe and touch her(1 out of hundreds I have observed over the many years). That was thrilling for me, but I thought for a moment she was going to die from a heart attack based on her reaction. But it was such perfect conditions that I had to try. atb

What a great video Simon. The Deer never miss a trick do they, but your excellent fieldcraft ensured you got your shots. You make a very good point about avoiding the loose branches on the ground as standing on one is end ex isn’t it. I’m really bad at avoiding them at times due to my dodgy knees. I have trouble putting weight on my knees when the ground is uneven and it affects my balance. The ifootage monopod looks so versatile, they really are amazing innovators aren’t they (as you are may I add with the use of the homemade sling - great idea).
@simoneardley Жыл бұрын
Youre right Gazza, they are always seeking to improve their products. The Cobra 3 is a big improvement on the last one, love the pedal feature. 👍🏼📷
@Gazzab6 Жыл бұрын
@@simoneardley I must admit I was amazed by the features of the product as you were going through it, it was one innovation after another. The pedal feature is genius and ifootage seem to be in touch with ‘in the field photographers’ by adding features that make it easier to use in the field when carrying big lenses - being able to adjust the product as quick as you demonstrated could be the difference of getting the shot or not, or even avoiding making unnecessary noises while faffing about trying to adapt it to the scenario like with other products. Even the head of choice, in your case the video head could be removed easily and in an instant.

Superb Simon but I am sure that, like me, you would just wish that these manufacturers would use a matt bottle green instead of shiny red !! It does look like a great piece of kit though… particularly like the low option. Looking forward to a great new season of footage from you. Best wishes from Belgium

As someone that also has been capturing deer .. Lesser of your movement lesser the chance of them doing a bolter .. Roe Deer are very easily spooked . And they will also bolt at the sight of other males on occasion I ethier sit on a wall with hardly little movement or behind the wall .. .. one even sat down within 20ft of me and if you can mimic there call they will stop and look right at you thus giving you more chance for shots . As they are always frequent at a field i walk past .. and on occasion will head into the field get them in thick brush looking down on them ,, last time i was out i bagged 3 most was 6 one night .
