This is my current project, an n gauge model railway layout based on the Severn Valley Railway, that I call the Shed Valley Railway! This time I've been laying the final bit of trackwork!

That's a nice long station platform, and very impressed with how smooth the engine goes over the gaps on the turn table too, looks like you got a lot done lately....thanks for sharing....Jack

Hi there I am N-gauge modeler myself and I have recently started to watch your videos of your Shed Valley layout growing, I am only up to number 15 plus the informative ones imbertween, so I have a way to go. I can not believe I have not seen your videos before. I am on a member on the N Gauge forum( lil chris), I started my first layout after retiring 6 years ago. I am now building my third layout which is in the loft room, this layout will be 8'x4'6" which is big enough for me. The reason for building another layout, I had to crawl under the layout into the centre, getting to old for that. Keep up the good work, I should catch up soon watching your videos. Chris

Thanks for watching Chris, I do sometimes lurk on the N Gauge Forum and RM Web but I try not to spend too long on there as I've got so much to finish on the layout I feel like I should spend the time working on that instead. Good luck with your new layout!

Massive progress Simon. It is looking very good. To be honest I didn't think the concrete paper could look very good but once it is down, it looks very good. I am impressed. It is all coming together. I look forward to the next episode. Rob

That’s one long platform. I remember walking along the real one to see one of the SVR’s Manor class locos and it felt endless!Turntables well

Congratulations on laying your last piece of track👍 That platform is going to be mighty impressive 😳. Just a thought with the screws- black plasterboard screws might work, you wont need to countersink them and they're black(!) Great progress👍🙂

Thanks Andrew, good idea with the plasterboard screws 👍

Looks like a Bachmann N gauge turntable? I use an HO one with Kato HO track on my OO UK layout. I have a problem with the loco intermittently stopping just after it goes onto the turntable. Not sure what causes it because everything seems DCC live.

Heya Simon, Great work. Follow the channel for time. Very enjoyable and educational. One question tho; you still appear to use paper e.g. the tarmac at the the depot. What made you deside that, based on your 'water mishap' on bot....woods?
@SimonsShed5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the roof is very well sealed now..so hopefully no more leaks 👍
@casparweeda16455 жыл бұрын
@@SimonsShed Hey Simon, Yes noticed your efforts towards that goal. Also thought you might have considered different materials that little more water resistant. e.g. Plaster for the concrete slap. Seen some colleagues with nice results.

A three way point would have probably solved the diesel depot off turntable problem
@SimonsShed5 жыл бұрын
Yes...haven’t been brave enough to try a three way point yet! 😃

Hi Simon from Thailand. I have been following your videos from day 1, and are halfway through. I've tried to join the Bachmann Collectors Club but can't find a link that works, do you have a working link?
@SimonsShed5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, I can’t find a working link either at the moment .

Shame that scale model scenery don't do the hardstanding in n... Would be ideal.
