Speed ain't nothing w/o class....Ray was always preaching - slow down and get a good sound - don't play fast, focus on your sound & play in tune!!! Great material Bob.

In my humble opinion - playing simple is as much an attitude and mindset as much it is a musical concept. It takes courage and certainty in your playing to be able to do it. To leave those spaces hanging there like a trapeze artist about to catch their next swing.

You are so right. Being a great bass player isn’t about playing every note on the freeboard as fast as possible, which seems to be what a lot of people are trying to do now, it’s really about playing a solid foundation until an opportunity to solo.

By chance I click, but what got me is that there’s nothing “easy” in music, when the simple it get, the more complex became the musicality of it I’m studying classical guitar, and was uncomfortable the word easy, and you say it in the right way I take the lesson with me, good music is good, wherever the shape it has Thank you for sharing

Sir, you have a great bass. In all earnest, amazing session. I love your energy and the idea of not repeating myself on bass never occured to me as a piano player.

Excellent stuff. Many thanks. Doing this over the diatonic circle of 5th is even closer to a real chord progression: this is playing Autumn Leaves with 1 3 5 1.
