This is a good initiative. I have one suggestion. To be able to have a clean pen, the pen should be raised up above the ground. After they ease themselves it will drop under the pen. You can enter under the pen and sweep time to time. Moreover when it rains erosion may occur due to the sloppy nature of the land.

I don't think this is the best at all, as is prone for snakes and so many other animals. It would be best to raise a low concrete wall about 60-70 cm and then you could finish with the wood

You are not a goat farmer😂 Are you the one that will send the snake
@FutureFarms-j5r3 ай бұрын
You have a point bro
@afuomtv3 ай бұрын
The video didn’t say this is the ideal goat pen however I recognize that not all farmers can start from a raised goat pen so should that stop them from goat farming? Most beginners start with this kind of goat pen before scaling up to the ideal goat pen. Also your suggestion of a low concrete all of 70cm doesn’t address your challenge of snakes at all as snakes can easily climb a 70cm wall

Please Afuoma tv what will i do on the ground of my goat pen house? Because am building my goat house exactly like this type
@joseykachiza34662 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing this. My worry with ground housing which is an advantage with raised house is on the follow: 1. Raised housing help to control foot/hoof diseases which some can as a result from urine and droppings bacteria when they are on a ground housing. 2. Raised house helps to keep the room clean, urine and droppings fall off through the spacing- while ground housing all urine and dropping are at the same level with where the goats sleeps. 3. Raised housing prevent mud or dirty water runoff which can be caused by the rains- while ground flow we can have muddy grounds during the rains and this dirty waters can also be mixed with urine and dropping making the goats more vulnerable. So help me and the rest of the team that follow you on how we can control or solve these challenges: how to manage urine and droppings on a ground housing, how to manage foot/hoof diseases, how to keep it clean always but not with hard labor, how to to avoid rain muddy flow or rain waters running through your goat house? we always want to keep the house clean and dry be it raised or ground

Afuom, ayekoo. Hmm, m'ate sɛ amanfoɔ wia mpɔnkye rough. How do you plan to keep the goats from thieves? I had a land I wanted to rear goats on but I was discouraged because I was told boys boys are very good with snatching them even before the first mbɛɛ🐐. Is there a recommended source I can buy healthy goats to start with? I'm in the Central Region. Thanks. NB: Arable = (of land) used or suitable for growing crops. Ventilated = Cause air to enter and circulate freely in (a room, building, etc.).
