Your quite right about January it’s not a time to be making new year resolutions we should do it in the spring equinox 21st March I believe, I read we should be sleeping an extra 2 hours a day in winter because it is a time for hibernation and my body does this naturally lol 🧡

Agree about January. Interestingly, before we adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1752, new year was celebrated on Lady Day on March 25th, so literally in line with the beginning of spring. A much better time for a new year with everything coming back to life!

A girl after my own heart. Whack a tee shirt under jumper and never was jumper unless it’s marked of course. Lovely ideas for outfits and I like that you are not paying mega high prices for clothing. Keeping it real from the high street. I’m sick of influencers who list products with designer ridiculous price tags that are out of reach for the every day women, thank you Laura❤

Hi Laura, in case you didn’t already know, it’s not safe to heat food in plastic, toxic chemicals also known as endocrine disrupters get released into the food and can cause hormonal imbalance and other health problems, plastic is best avoided altogether, thought I’d mention as I also have endometriosis x

In January and, February for that matter, we must love to veg and watch tv, eat nice home made meals and regroup. No pressure, no expectations.

Very refreshing for a youtuber not to be bombarding us with New Year resolutions, strategies, mission boards for the year or dry January! I prefer to stay cosy at home in front of the fire and ensure whatever the weather I walk my dog for at least an hour per day. And I don't feel bad about it at all!

Totally agree about starting diets etc in January, we need to nurture ourselves, lots of self care , nourishing food, it is the worst month of the year lets love ❤❤ ourselves xx

Happy 2024 to you! I can confirm Uniqlo Heat-tech thermals are fantastic. Your can choose from two levels of warmth, depending on how much cold you feel. Really cosy, and not bulky at all, so they're perfect for under other tops/jumpers, or the longjohns under leggings with boots. They're super lightweight, so great for packing on trips away too.

I agree with @janpowell7536. Its only now in later years that I'm becoming comfortable with what my body is naturally dictating to me at this time of year. I used to think I'm such a sloth for coming in from work and not wanting to do much except watch telly and eat comforting food and cosy by the fire. It is hibernation. We do feel we need more sleep, and this is due to the longer dark hours. When our eyes absorb less light we naturally believe it is night and we are ready for sleep. Now when I get in from work I think how grateful I am to have a home, heat and food to allow me to hunker down and enjoy the cosiness that is 'winter'. Not to mention all those lovely warming and cosy clothes to keep us toasty. Enjoy all it brings.

I feel so validated to hear someone else say they feel like doing absolutely nothing lately, too! Beans on toast, eating chocolate on the couch - sounds like a good way to spend this gray, dull month.

Exactly I agree about the spring, Also, an interesting fact, the Persian New Year is on the moment spring comes about. Hence, they make their New Year's resolution with everything blooming/new and fresh. To be honest, everyday is a new day and we can make new plans and start great habits

Hi Laura, love your blog, just a quick tip, you may want to wet and squeeze out the excess water from the paper towel before you put in in the microwave...it prevents the towel from catching on fire.

Absolutely right and agree about the month of January regarding wellbeing. Nature is a marvellous example of life and I have been practising hibernation/nuture as much as I can during January&February (in fact winter months since I've been working from home!🤗🥰)it's been a game changer. Really like your lovely channel/video content. Happy New Year to you💫 and a new subscriber 😊

Hi Laura, happy new year. Future Tip to get rid of tomatoe based stains in plastic in newer boxes is put a bit of washing liquid in once you emptied beans soup etc with kitchen roll, add hot water, cover top with lid and have a good old swish and shake and it removes the stain. Not sure if it would work on old stains but on newer plastic boxes its worked for me.

Happy new year Laura to you and your family❤another brilliant vlog. I loved all your outfits you suit everything. I went into H &M there and bought the navy jumper. It is such good quality I can't believe the price! It was still £27.99 at the till but I explained it was £21.99 online members price and she reduced it. Then I was lucky enough to have a £3 voucher so only paid £19!! Absolute bargain😊. Thanx again for all your fashion tips. Have a great day❤

I think spring is the real new year. Afghanistan and Iran, I believe, have the most accurate calendar (solar calendar). They celebrate New Years on the 1st day of spring. And it totally makes sense as that is when the trees and everything is reborn. That’s why they call it “Nowroz” which means “A New Day”. The Gregorian calendar in the west has January as the new year which doesn’t make sense to me and maybe that’s why everyone feels kinda off in January. Like you said it’s a time to hibernate. How can that be a new year? Lol. Going forward I’m celebrating the new year on the 1st day of spring and not putting pressure on myself to have any resolutions right after the holidays or to party in the freezing cold after I’ve stuffed my face for months during thanksgiving and Christmas lol.

I missed the details about the new short nails.. you said you got them done but you also have a bottle of coloured "builder" that's on your nails... did the salon apply it and then you bought a bottle to maintain the look at home? is it something we can buy online? Thank you I'm a new subscriber after YT suggested this video to me. happy new year. loved your intro ❤️

Hi Laura! Nothing against promoting lower price point items but please consider that a £20 jumper is likely made of polyester, bad for the environment and also not as warm as wool. I know you also promote investing in good basic pieces so why not spend a little more on a jumper with high wool % that will be warmer and last longer?

I come here for the outfit ideas. The first 10 minutes of this video was exclusively a monologue of you talking about yourself. It was so painful. Please consider if your content has actual value to anyone else before posting and your channel will do better. I will keep watching sporadically. Thanks for the outfit inspo!
