In most of these type of videos, the door is cut out completely then hinges are added. When I make these, I cut only one side, then apply the hinge, then finish cutting the rest of the door. It saves time with alignment. Glad to see you think the same way brother! Love the technique and am now a subscriber. Nothing like taking throwaways and making something useful!!!

Yes, it's a good tool, but I want to add it is a very dangerous tool. I cut my finger down to the bone and my neighbor across the street, cut into the knuckle on the back of his hand. When you are grinding grip the grinder very tight so the grinder does not slip especially if you are grinding above your head. Be sure the grinder has a shield.

sorry for being fussy but not sure you needed to cut out the top, the hole looked just the right size for a pan, and the grill would still work due to heat transfer, good idea though

mark williams Hi, i cut the rim down so it would be easier to fill it up with wood in case inwould be used as a fire put only. I left a small edge just so it could function as well as a bbq. How long did it last ?? Washing machine drums - whilst stainless are quite thin walled
@dabberty4 жыл бұрын
It discoulered after the first real use, but stayed good till about 4 months ago. But then again, it was outside the whole time, also in snow and rain. Perhaps it would have lasted longer if it had been under a roof or in a shed stored.
@kiwiaus3 жыл бұрын
@@dabberty I doubt it would last significantly better... heat on the thin wall does the most damage I was only asking because my daughter has done the same out of an old washing machine Old LPG tanks from cars are better, but more work involved ..... if you do - make sure you fill until overflowing, with water to displace any residual gas BEFORE ANY CUTTING

Your design is simple practical inexpensive and precise ... Suggest to use a small drum ... bigger one needs more fuel ... Though it might help ur room warmer ...in your part of world ... but a small drum can save some fuel ...unless u r using it as a room warmer too ... In fact, I liked it so much wanna make one similar but being in hot country ... does not find utility bcos not a barbeque loving family I have 😂😂😂

Another suggestion ... u can use a grill bucket as well ... to heat the water or tea or coffee quicker .. as the grill would be too high from flame.. If used with low fuel ... In the bucket one can put a large tumber with handle to lower and heat

Great idea, before I start building one, or buy one of them, I would like to suggest a further improvement: You could add something for allowing the adjustment of the height of the grill roast or any other feature for enabling the heat regulation as heat regulation is required for excellent cooking.
@jdsrcs80615 жыл бұрын
All I do is throw the grill on it to warm water. If I want to grill on it I use hard wood like oak. It don't let the flames get to big. Adding some charcoal to keep the heat with out the flame also works great. One thing that I use it for is cooking with a Dutch oven. It fits perfectly into and acts as a wind break
