I am not sure about destroying attachment. Btw, you can fix Workstation wobbling by tightening smallest "golden" screws.

Reason to destroy the attachment was to get router attachment for to be used with dremel fortiflex too. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2739003762799886&id=100000708661280 Dremel doesn't sell any attachments for fortiflex.

Few months ago I started to create some wooden jewelry and small stuff like that... well done! ive modded my dremel plunge router to be inverted and acts like a table router/shaper.:P much easier to use , can setup any type of guide on the table surface for follow , . 2 screws and turns back into a handheld plunge router.But , better and more effective flipped and used inverted as a table setup. . Its quite "bulky" for a dremel powered plunge router. The big one , not the little screw on one.... love your design you've modded. may copy this:PThe little "black" screw on handheld one is crap with horrible surface (as its a round circle , without any flat area) , so you fall off edges of projects constantly with it... your design solves this.

The attachment that comes with the multipurpose and tile cutting kits can be used like this though they are not as wide so are probably a little less stable.

Dremel router plunge base is only 25 bucks and way more versatile, they also have a router base that is wider and more stable than using the circle cutter attachment than the home made version.

I was looking at buying this little Dremel attachment but I noticed that the contact surface was a flimsy plastic rim. This is the perfect solution for that. There's probably even a market for it. Your demonstrated use was exactly the niche it would fill, fine work too delicate for small hand routers, but consistency of a stabilized tool. A bit of video advice though, always show your finished product first before you show how it's made.

What a great video, using a dremel to make a dremel tool. Now I want a dremel. You say that the 4000 model, thats what you recommend, I want that workstation think looks ideal for small wood working projects.

1. 9:05 - Why glue it when, without glue, you could unscrew it and use the original circle cutter again. 2. 9:14 - What's the purpose of the springs? The depth is being set by the circle cutter piece so I can't figure out why this would need springs.

Springs allows to tilt and press dremel little bit lower if needed. When etching glass with a diamond point, i can set the depth so that it barely leaves a mark. When i press it, it makes little deeper mark. When i tilt it, it makes thinner line. That makes glass etching easier. ( I had several circle cutters, that's why i glued it )

Thanks! In this case i used extruded acryl, it cracks easily if flame polished, specially if cut & routed. With cast acryl it works better.

Can you tell me if one can use dremel routing bits such as the 618 Chamfer bit with the workstation?

It can be used with workstation.. but you need to be careful. Then blade is un-guarded. Otherwise there is no limits.

I tried what you did with a Dremel plunge router base, but I still got a lot of vibration, which wasn't so good on my hands and/or the work. I prefer to use a trimming router instead, the weight and the speed allowed for a better product.

Great job. you pretty much have the full range of all dramel. Same here, I replace most of the big tools with dramel since I mostly working on small project. Scroll saw replacing the huge band saw... etc. BTW, one question, could like put a link on where do you get the bits that you use to drill matel, glass...? Its fine for small things. Its not so sturdy as i thought, but enough. You can drill alumine and all softer materials. When used with 4000 model its much better than with the 3000 model.

Tina Marie Malinowski I used Dremel motosaw for cutting. ( its a scrollsaw). I like workstation... but it didn't drill perfectly straight at first, but that was easy to fix.

Thanks I just got my saw and melted my plastic with speed too high. You cut perfectly!

I broke my first blades within 5 minutes. 😊 Good tool after little practise. If possible, try to cut your way out from if the plastic starts to melt, don't stop. Then you don't lose the blade.

Judicious use of a hot air gun will smooth your edges faster than polishing and a leave a clean clear surface.

You could have taken a second to show how you had to dismantle your saw blade to get it through the drilled hole to make the circle cut.

What RPM level on a Dremel 4000, were you using to route /sand/polish. I just bought one and new to this kind of work. I already have the Workstation. Considering the Scrollsaw and the Router Table attachments in the future. Thanks a bunch, Jon Frost-4113-348-0591

When routing soft wood i use full speed, with harder ones 15k. Too high speed heatens routing bits too much and ruins them, harder wood makes bits heaten faster. For sanding and polishing i use lowest speeds. Sanding pads lasts much longer, high speed ruins them quite fast, but doesn't increase effiency very much.
