That method appears to be very popular in the United States. I have seen a few UK fish keepers use them. .They are sturdy. Just hard to find straight boards 😅

because you are saving money there I will spend a little but more than cheap wood. to avoid that issue and give then a coat of varnish . and place leveling foam too not just the bare wood againt the glass

@ulazerg7163 I have used insulation foam on my other stands where bear glass would touch the wood. Lucky on both of the tanks in this video they have a plastic rim around the base of them so no glass touches the wood. I am considering varnishing and painting the wood on my stands.

Thank you for your comment. I watch a variety of channels and an awful lot of shorts when I'm doing water changes. So lots of things get recommended to me.
