Do you need limber holes,or does water not get through deck?Is water condensing in there an issue?

Would you be able to build this out of insulation foam instead of wood ? Use same template but instead , use it on foam and glue together ?
@saltboatworks11395 жыл бұрын
Wood is the main structural material of this boat. Swapping it out for insulation foam, a material with no structural qualities, would not work.

How do you find the angles and compound curves for the hull design?
@saltboatworks11395 жыл бұрын
We design our boats by sketching a concept to develop it. Then we 3D model the design in a software called Rhino3D to create the plans, prints and templates.

Are those foam is a must?
@saltboatworks11394 жыл бұрын
Yes, we use the compressive strength of the foam as part of the structural support of the hull. It is also a USCG requirement for boats under 20'

very nice! i hope your getting $$ considering how much these boats cost new 500 to 2500 is a deal. on the other hand for the life of i can't understand why if your making a "boat" why don't you use pressure treated plywood and lumber? if you ahve over 20 years or at least 10 years of home repair experiance you can make these all day without plans! you don't need curves everywhere either. simply add some angles and you should be good to go

hai sir, i want built like this boat. but can you send blue print. i never build boat before, thanks

Anyway to make it lighter ??? Full fiberglass????
@saltboatworks11395 жыл бұрын
The completed boat weighs approximately 100lbs. A solid glass boat would not save weight but would likely increase in weight.
@Juandongduck4 жыл бұрын
@@saltboatworks1139 Even with the foam inside it weighs 100 lbs?
@OneWayTraffic2 жыл бұрын
@@Juandongduck The foam might be used to help support deck and hull panels. You might save a little weight removing it, and possibly adding some extra partial beams if needed. In general though, wood (due to lower density) is stronger and stiffer pound for pound than almost any other material, until you get into some really expensive composite sandwiches.
