THANKS FOR THIS GOOD IDEA. IMHO: GET SOME OF THAT GRIPPY, FOAM MAT/MESH/SHELF LINER MATERIAL, AND CUT IT TO SIZE, AND GLUE IT TO THE LARGER FLAT SURFACES, (TOP AND BOTTOM), WITH SPRAY ADHESIVE.... THIS WILL HELP KEEP IT FROM SLIF=DING ON TOP OF YOUR WORK BENCH, (DURING USE). CHEERS!!

For full flexibility, I would place small blocks on the side edges where your chamfered block ends so you can carve straight on as well as angled

Thanks for this, great idea, my only suggestion would be to add one upright say 1.5" along either the left or right edge with a diagonal cut toward you that lines up with one of the diagonals on the blocks, this will enable you to manage a wider piece of board either square to the corner and across the two blocks or diagonally, braced by the upright ! I hope this this make sense ?

To make the piece secure make a groove with a T bolt & Knob in the middle with a 90’ piece on the end to hold the block against the stops. 👍🏻🇦🇺

I was thinking similar but maybe even simpler, just a block of similar thickness and a V groove in, that you can then push up against so brace the work you're carving, fingers well away in case you slip with your chisel. It could have a dowel handle or make it l shaped so you can push up behind.

Can you make a 14 inch pizza dough press out of wood?

Usually those work better when they are heated, so making one out of wood would not be as useful.

@@SpecificLove7 Cool thanks. I have seen some people that created something similar to that for tortillas, so I thought maybe they could work for pizza dough if you put like parchment paper.
