I know this over year old just what to say good looking brooder.Like to add it would make a nice breeder pen for trio of chickens add nest box and perch.

Hey Wes. Thanks for the comment. I would imagine you probably could do that and it would be pretty easy to reach in and access your birds.

You'll have to let me know how those do. I've heard conflicting things on them here in AZ.

@@EdgeofNowhereFarm I will! I'm very curious myself.

Would this hold 12 chicks for full indoor brooder time
@EdgeofNowhereFarm Жыл бұрын
Hey Heather. I'm assuming you're talking about layer chicks. If so, this will very easily hold 12 chicks for 6 weeks until they're fully feathered out. We have fully brooded out 25 chicks in this with no issues. It gets a little tight towards the end, but still enough space.

@@EdgeofNowhereFarm Thank you for responding. After talking with the hubby, we will put together the two large dog crates with some additional screening and such. Since we already have them and they already have a place to live put away. It wasn’t my choice due to the extra steps to dust proof them. Yet it may work just as well. The coop is costing enough . It’s a journey worth going on as a family. Another question though about medicated chick feed at least to start? So many different opinions… Anyway have a blessed day!

@@heatherc2 we have not used a medicated feed before and have very few losses (almost none with layer chicks). It's a personal choice and in my opinion I don't think you would be making a mistake by starting with it. You have many months before those little ones start pumping out eggs for you!

Could you please give me the plans for this or did you make your own as you went
@EdgeofNowhereFarm5 жыл бұрын
Hey Darth. Sorry, but we don't have plans for this one as we just made it up as we went along.
