I love my bag. Mine ended up approx 35cm square though. I guess i kept going too long. 😅 I used Red Heart Super Saver cafe latte since i didn't have cotton yarn. But it is definitely my favorite bag now. I've done the trendy granny square bags, but i like this for me the best. ❤ I also made a smaller version with a starting chain of 35 using Super Saver soft navy speckle. I might make one out of cotton eventually. Thank u so much!

I finished my bag and it looks just like your bag! I am very happy with it! Thank you for all your help and this amazing tutorial! This was my first time using the 24/7 cotton yarn and I love it. I may try using two strands together on my next bag. Do you have any recommendations for a bulky yarn to use on bags? I want to make a bag with stripes and a cross body! Thank you!
@shaniceleader25396 ай бұрын
how many skeins/grams did yours take? I have 340 grams of Bernat Handicrafter, and I'm on row 43 of the base, but I would guess I only have about 140 grams left. I have no scale, but nervous I will run out of yarn by the time I start the straps 😫

then again, this is my first time using handicrafter, so maybe there's more left in the skein than I think..

Turning every round keeps the seam straight! If you don’t turn, the seam will be slanted
@marinachen8969 Жыл бұрын
@@VivCrochets but if I do the rounds in the same direction, there's no need to slip stiches and chain one, there should be no seam at all, I assume? Let me do my way for a while and see what happens. @mandylavery45582 ай бұрын
I kept to the 116 stitches but my bag has got bigger as im crocheting up so no idea why when i have correct amount of stitches s o annoying it's slightly lopsided too. Will see how it ends up. I reckon I will need more than 100g I reckon this bag would look better in chunkier yarn & bigger hook

Update :I made a much smaller one using mostly your design and technique except I single crochet in the same direction all the way to the end! There's no seam cuz I don't turn and chain one. The only problem is to hide the last stitch, and I decided to finish on the short side of the bag so it's s almost invisible 😂 Not as perfect as yours but I'm happy enough Thanks a million ❤

Hi! I love this bag but I wanted it to be a little bigger. Do you think I could just double everything it would come out OK? I am a brand new crochet, but I do know how to single crochet! Lol.
@VivCrochets10 ай бұрын
I usually let you know how to adjust the size! For the base, you chain more for longer and do more rows for wider. For the height, do more rows to make it taller. If you do want double the size of the bag, you would double the number of chains and rows!
@rubyjt57545 ай бұрын
Question, why ch1 and turn each round rather than work in a continuous spiral? I was wondering if it would make a difference other than the seam down the side of the bag? Is it to keep the stitches from slanting?
@VivCrochets5 ай бұрын
That and I prefer to work in joined rounds over continuous rounds! Also, the strap of this bag is worked starting in the corner. You would need to fasten off and reattach in the right stitch if you worked continuous
@rubyjt57545 ай бұрын

Hey there i think the problem is the body because there is a bump that looks like a stitch but it's not actually a one; it is formed from the turn and chain 1 we make after the end of each row ,and if you accidentally single crochet on it your bag will not be even and it will be ruined from one corner ( it happened to and i figured it out )
