SIMPLE, EASY DIY Live Animal Trap!

Super simple live animal trap for racoons, opossums, skunks, cats, whatever fits! Completley made out of scrap wood and leftover hardware cloth and hinges. The animal simply walks in, baited by some food, steps on the trigger ramp, and the door shuts. Will update description when I start to trap some animals. Good luck!

I like your trap design better than the others I've seen on here. Using a different carry handle design I saw elsewhere, but my build is basically a copy of yours. Can't wait to try it out on the ferals and strays that a neighbor lady feeds, then they use my property as their litter box. Thank you very much.

Looks great! I already have a good sized small animal cage (Guinea pig / rabbit cage) so I think I just need to make the drop down door and trigger. I’ll figure out a way to fasten the vertical dado cut pieces to the outside of the cage. Very nice design, thanks!

Stray cats are catching my chicks but I don't want to harm them so I just thought to catch them and release somewhere far from my chickens. That'll do the work. Thanks for the video

Nice job I made one just like it 30"x15"x15" I was thinking of also putting the mesh on top so maybe animals would feel less confined and leery of entering trap and I did soon after setting up caught a pesky feral cat moved it far away where a woman feeds them.

This may sound stupid but whenever I take them somewhere else to let them go I try to leave them with some food and a little bit of water also so they can get used to their new environment. But that is just me

Guys, please remember that’s it’s only in these animals nature to be doing what they are doing. Live traps are the very best way to solve the problem without anyone or anything getting hurt. Please be kind to the animals you catch and if you don’t know how to get rid of them away from your property just post a comment here or ask a neighbor what they would do. You’d be surprised at the help you will get and the precious animals don’t get hurt either. Thank you! 🙃

I've never caught a cat, but I've never tried. If you do catch one, there is no reason you have to take the cat out of the trap, and its small enough to fit in the car.

We used chicken feed since that is what they were eating. I removed the chicken feeder and replaced it with the trap.

According to what you are trying to catch. Sardines for things like possums, raccoons and other what people call “varments” 😂 Canned cat food for stray cats and more domestic type animals, however the cat food will also attract the possums d raccoons alike almost just as well. If it is just a raccoon you are after and know it’s a raccoon just to your local convince store or dollar store and buy the cheapest honey bun and use that. Raccoons love those. Happy hunting! Please be kind to the animals! It’s only in their nature to be doing what they are doing, please remember that. Thank you! 🙃
