It's bizarre how the crowd can yell "stop fighting the cops" 20 times, then 5 minutes later be like "you guys had no reason to taser him", "he was not being violent". It was like collective dementia or something!

American cops are bullies.. they have no diplomacy, can't defuse and always resort to this kind of bullshit. I've met and seen cops in other developed nations and they alwaysnfind a way to defuse. A 17 year old kid and they went down this route. Not all cops are awful but people like these could clearly take another approach. it would go a long way to restoring faith within the community.

What are you even talking about? Maybe this was the weekend. It also could be that they were already off work for the day. Or maybe they work night shift. Maybe they just work on the weekends. Or just maybe they work from HOME like so many other people nowadays. Either way, they’re getting their bills paid somehow because the power bill has been paid and they have a roof over their heads, their children seem to be well taken care of, and the family has been taking care of a minor that they’re not even responsible for. Just knowing that they care enough to take care of someone off the streets that has nobody else is enough for me to conclude that they are good hard WORKING people! So next time maybe you can think things through a little more before you assume these people are deadbeats that don’t have jobs!! Looks like it’s a nice, clean neighborhood with concerned neighbors to me. Yet, you came to the conclusion that everyone in the neighborhood had the same day off which really means nobody works. Have a blessed day🙏🏾

From the looks of it, he’s friends with the couple’s son and they probably tried to take custody of him and DCFS said no for whatever reason and he keeps running away from his group home and coming back to his friends house. So he became a labeled as a runaway and the cops have to get involved cause they have to return him to where he’s legally supposed to be. He only got arrested cause he wanted to fight with the cops. I feel bad for the kid honesty. No u shouldn’t be fighting the cops, but obviously if he’s in the care of the state he was removed from his parents. So he prolly had a shot home life, living in a place he doesn’t wanna be and he’s just tryna be somewhere he’s comfortable. I feel for him. I’ve had friends growing up in situations similar. He’s 17 tho, he’s almost aged out so I pray he gets on his feet properly.

I was very fortunate to grow up with amazing parents, but in the small town we lived in, I had ALOT of friends who were WAY less fortunate than us. Both me and my brother had a lot of these kids live under our roof throughout their child hood cause of shitty parents. Can’t believe I was able to find a comment not crawling with passive aggressiveness, racism, or a high horse attitude. This 17 year old’s family have obviously dropped the ball big time ( I’m sure for years) and everyone expects him to have his head on straight and be mature. He probably hasn’t had any proper authority figure in his life to guide him and mold him into a confident and strong young man. My husband and I have drug addicts/abusers up and down our bloodline so I understand a bit of this kids situation and actions. Not saying it’s right but I understand. Stay blessed, have a great day.

Imagine being caught with a runaway youth in your house, has no relation with you, DCFS has called the cops to come handle it, and you think you’re in the right? Should keep their mouths shut before the state starts asking why they have a runaway in their house that they weren’t granted custody over.
@ashesforbeauty6582

I guess I heard it a little differently. They said the home he was in doesn’t want him back but yet he can’t stay with this family because dhs said to call if he shows up. Which they did despite knowing it meant he would be hauled off again. They are trying to gain custody of him but it takes time. I see a family who cares for a young man who slipped through some cracks in a broken system. So much may have been avoided had people just talked to the young man and worked to keep a scary situation calm before going hands on. Granted, there could be some video missing and things I missed in the video.

@@ashesforbeauty6582 if they cared they would have him do the right thing by going with the cops and not act a fool. He was tased because he wouldn’t comply. @@JLRobbins Try having a little empathy. You might act differently if you were 17 and had gone through what it sounds like this kid has gone through. He sounds like he is just barely keeping himself together in a system that is, like most such systems in the US, overloaded and understaffed. And the lady did ask him to go out and talk with them, but while she was getting her shoes to go out with them, they escalated because he didn't respond quickly enough. No this was mishandled by the cops from one end to the other.
@JLRobbins
@JLRobbins 2 күн бұрын
@ hmm you might try and understand some people have a better understanding of what others have gone through due to their own experience’s. The cops are in a house and then in a yard where there are many aggressive and shouting people. The mom escalated the situation before anything kicked off. He wouldn’t come down the stairs, they don’t need to wait for the lady as she was escalating the entire issue and getting everyone worked up. The police gave lawful orders and he didn’t follow them. They don’t need to say over and over again to do something.

I agree. This kid never had a chance. His parents failed him, his foster family failed him, and he was thrown into an uncaring, ineffective system and this is what happens. Hopefully he can get his GED and get into the military and make his own way in life. Otherwise he'll spend the majority of the rest of his life behind bars.

Kid is clearly mentally disabled, and neighbors clearly have no idea what is going on or how anything works. buuuuut the kid is right about the cops escalating the situation by tell him to do a thing (put hands behind his back) while actively preventing him from putting his hands behind his back. Super common thing they do, so common that I kind of suspect they might do it on purpose simply so they _can_ escalate the situation.

He didn’t even do anything. He was waiting for the lady that he trusted to go out with him. Kids like him don’t trust to many people so he was just waiting his guardian. Some cops are scum. Abusing young kids like this. They didn’t have to grab him out of the house, why cause he didn’t move as fast as they wanted him to.

It’s incredibly simple to decipher. If you go up to a woman trying to flirt and you are all over her being aggressive , that can be quantified as doing too much. If you had a bad day, and decide to take your anger out on the store cashier, you are indeed doing way to FN much. If you turn a molehill into a mountain, you are doing too much. Eating a whole pizza in one sitting, is both doing too much and eating too much.

Kids in the system will have an attorney and a guardian ad litem, depending on the jurisdiction, especially if their parents' rights have been terminated. But that's in family court, she likely won't be a criminal attorney.
