With this basic conversation for the beginners level A1.1 you can improve your reading and listening comprehension in a fun and highly effective way.
Milica and Henry who are both German teachers and native speakers 💡, will engage in an interesting and authentic conversation about different topics of everyday life. This way you can integrate a lot of useful words and expressions into your vocabulary and express yourself better and more fluently in your next conversation in German ✅. Of course, Milica and Henry will speak with the perfect speed for the A1.1 level.
Study advice💡: You can close your eyes in order to just focus on the listening comprehension or alternatively, turn off the sound and just focus on the reading comprehension. Of course, you can also listen to the conversation while reading it at the same time.
This way you have a lot of flexibility and can focus on practicing the skill that you personally find most difficult.

Here is another interesting fact: This dialogue was written by teachers who are teaching DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache = German as a foreign language) and therefore, it is perfectly adapted in terms of vocabulary and grammar to the A1.1 level. Thank you for your nice comment! 😊 Yes, that was the goal: we wrote this conversation only using the grammar and vocabulary of the A1.1 level. In terms of speaking speed we wanted to speak slowly, but not too slowly (so that it would be the perfect challenge for the level).

Yes, it can be beneficial to learn in small chunks ... we wanted to provide a full dialogue so that everyone could pick the quantity of input that is right for him. Some might want to listen to longer conversations, some prefer shorter conversations to focus on the details. What you can do is pause the video from time to time and process the information that you heard. You could also take notes while listening. Remember Deutsch sentence structure is backwards from English so need time to think about German Sentence and then reverse it to translate it back to English.

I understand your struggle! It always takes time, so the first advice I can give you is focus on the positive aspects, meaning be proud of what you can already understand (instead of focussing on what you can't). This advice is so valuable because your mindset and motivation are very important. So be nice to yourself! On the other hand, I can recommend you to watch our content a lot! We will have dialogues, audiobooks and other formats that are perfect for improving your listening and reading skills, but also your vocab. So, I would read the transcripts we have prepared on our website, study the vocabulary, then listen to the video again ... play with the speed and so on. Also make yourself a study plan where you write down what you study each day! And also very important, surround yourself by German speaking people, talk a lot, watch series in German, listen to the radio ... I know, it is a lot of work, but man, it is so rewarding when you accomplish it. I always say that learning languages is something that you can give yourself as a gift! There are many things in this world you can buy with money, but you cannot buy "learning a language" with money. This is a result of your hard work and effort! I hope I was able to give you some motivation. Keep on going! 😊👍
