You were so honest when you said that upon your return your were still living the city life. People always believe it is so idyllic and romantic living in a cabin but they do not realise that you spend most of winter bringing logs inside just to stay warm and for cooking with which is a challenge. It is difficult to make adjustments when we have been bought up with everything at our fingertips. Living in one room whilst the roof is undergoing repairs is a struggle at the best of times. Tempers get short and people argue etc. The weather will I hope soon bring spring to you and then the warmer summer months will follow and the roof will be fixed! Sending virtual hugs to you from the UK.

The honesty shown in this video is very much appreciated. The chaotic situation around the house, the joys of having a warm shower ... i love the see more of these realistic things on this platform. Not just from people that chose simple living in the woods, but also from e.g. vanlife channels. Too often it's all glam and roses that is shown, but i'd love to see how couples cope with the limited space when it's raining for several weeks, how they manage their lifes in these super tiny spaces like using the toilet in front of the significant other or especially when it comes to menstruation etc - the vast majority just doesn't talk about it. Therefore i'd been very happy that you spoke so openly about your own challenge with this topic in Kalles video a while ago. Thank you Christine for bringing honesty to this platform in such a lovely way.

Hi Miss Christina. (we) here in Montreal, live in 1 room as well. The bedroom is the other, and I make use of it as often as I can. I read, listen to podcasts, laying in bed, and napping during the day. Making 1 room work takes (work). I know. Get outside, breathe some air, when things get testy with Kalle. Don't loose your cookies. I see Nala has grown a lot in the past few months. You will figure out the rhythm. Be patent with yourself and Kalle. Hang in there. Greetings from Montreal.

Thank you for this video and sharing your thoughts. I love the authenticity all the way through. And it also shows so much that no matter our circumstances or surroundings; true happiness always comes from within. As you said: "simple living is a state of mind". There may be things and material objects that spark joy in us, but there's cearly a difference between lasting happiness and just pleasure. Of course, finding inner happiness can be a challenging path, but if we are precious with our time and who we spend it with, start being comfortable with ourselves in stillness (meditation can help), seek to live in alignment with our values, knowing our values, and live a healthy and balanced life, happiness might not be as abstract as it seems.

Well done Christine on your channel, it's a joy to watch. The thumbnail pictures are EPIC! So beautiful 😍 and thank you for your honesty. Real life can be different from what we portray, and it was good of you to share the struggles. I could totally relate when you said being a good girl means being busy all the time. I often feel like that and it can be exhausting - having a neat clean home, working, being married, and trying to enjoy our beautiful surroundings here on the west coast of Scotland - it can be overwhelming to try and fit everything in! So it's good to be reminded to take time out for yourself and rest 💗

thank you so much for this video. I can feel totally with you. This was the first complete winter for me in Sweden. Although we´re not living a simple life like you do, it´s much more simple than my life in Germany has been...with central heating and all the modern comfort. I felt so stressed in January...even though I had no real stress. And also my husband and me argued a lot, about nothing. But when I realized that it´s me and my German-living-mindset that stressed me, it got much better. I also was not used allowing me just to do nothing. But I´m learning it. It´s still a work in progress ;-) I´m patient with myself. A mindset that has been lived for 28 years cannot be changed in a few weeks. Be glad that you are already wiser than me at almost 49 years :-) I wish you all the best and I really enjoy your work. Big hug from Västernorrland

I saw that you will have a bathroom in future. That's great! My wife and I moved out to a cottage in a remote place also, but we are not really going for extrem simplicity. I have great respect for young people like you guys, leaving the city to a small cabin in the north, without running in-door water and so on. Respect! But, having running hot water in the house make such a HUGE difference in life quality. We also have sauna, past summer we built a very modern kitchen as well - wow! It is so fantastic to enjoy comfort inside house but when you open the door to outside, you step out to solitude and untouched nature with surroundings that one could feel been unchanged in, like, 1000 years. This contrast is so magic in my opinion.

I've been longing so much for a new video from you 😍❤️ You create amazing movies that become miracles. I hope more people discover your channel because you are worthy of all happiness and success 😍❤️ We are many who are very quick to judge and criticize ourselves because everything does not go as we intended. That we do not have the strength we want. That we do not perform as much as we "should" - according to ourselves. That's why it's super important that we keep reminding ourselves - and each other! - that we live in systems, in norms and structures, which are far much larger than ourselves. Stress and burnout are public health problems, not individual problems. It's not you, it's the system. We all have different paths to walk to be happy and find harmony, prosperity, satisfaction and meaningful life. My tip is to try to relax more and lower your expectations and demands on yourself. Exclude factors that make you feel unwell. ❤️❤️ Do not forget that we love you for who you are and that YOU are more than good enough! ❤️❤️Live with Passion !

I think it is very brave of you to show us both the good and the bad sides of living a simple life in the middle of the woods. Your words warmed my heart and I am looking forward to follow your journey. Sending much love and a warm hug from Germany 💕

This is absolutely wonderful Christine. Thank you for sharing the beauty and the challenges. It takes time to adjust to be kind to yourself. I’ve only known living in the woods so the city for me is scary and unknown. Your narration is beautiful. We have beautiful deep snow winters too. We have a channel as well but I won’t spam you channel with it. Keep on keeping on and Spring will soon be here. Our seasons coordinate with yours very close. 🙋♀️🕯☕️❄️

Ohhh Christine 🥰 Beautiful video, perfection!!!! I feel we are living parallel lives in a way. Even though it wasn’t the same I was stuck in CA away from Greg for 3 months. I wish I could send you a ton of our water here, the tropics are warm. We don’t actually live anywhere at the moment and it’s very stressful. I love that you’re filming in this beautiful snow, I wish I could be in it so badly! You look beautiful and peaceful. Sending you and Kalle love. Stay strong my friend!!!!

Hi Christine! Your videos are very soothing and enjoyable. You do such wonderful narration and have such a beautiful camera presence. The winter scenes are stunning. We live in deep snow country and it looks that way after a storm. Thanks for the awesome video. We have a small channel. Within the last year we began making videos about life in the Keweenaw. We have been inspired by Jonna, Isabelle Paige, Leena, Kalle and now you as well. Thank you for that.

What a beautiful video! I'm new to this channel, but I had to subscribe right away. I live near a city, but I watch videos of people living simple lives close to nature, and I dream about being able to do that someday. The idea that simple living is a state of mind is such a wonderful thing because it means that someone like me can embrace that mindset, even if I don't live in a beautiful forest.

So love your honesty. Although we used to live about 15 minutes apart. We are in the total south of Europe for two months. As we are moving towards a new integrated life together. Temporarily staying in a home with a living room, where we both do our work. There is no internet in the bedroom. We are evolving... And it is going better and sometimes it's very challenging. It's hard to have nog privacy. Yet it's lovely to be together. Such good advice to just stop and take time for ourselves. I think we women need that especially... to get back into our power. Feel like I at least have one person in this world who gets it. Love your video's and the beautiful winter wonderland. Lot's of love, Vi

Hello Lovely! I am so excited that you've shared another video with us. You are experiencing a true culture shock for sure. Yes indeed Mother Nature is trying to remind you of what's really important. Slow down, enjoy the moments. Maybe during this winter times: only use one reusable cup/mug and plate each, then wash it. Don't set up the whole table. Don't worry about wearing the same clothes for a week. Just enjoy!

Life in the city conditions you into thinking and acting in certain ways. Everything is handed to you on a plate, everything is taken for granted. We become accustomed to such an unnatural way of life, it is hectic, complicated, and above it makes life cheap....... disposable, forgettable!. Getting back to a simply life, a natural way of live, can only enrich our life in a way the city never can!. So making that transition from city to cabin is like a detoxifying process. The mind has to move in a different direction. You have to look at things in a different way. Priorities in the city are no longer priorities in the country......and ultimately you have to work with what you've got, rather that it just work for you!. Then and only then will living be no longer seen as cheap and disposable.......and no longer taken for granted!.
