I’ve always just used the trap doors to block the spider spawns. I never knew that the half blocks like this did the same thing. This version crushed my previous mob farms. Thank you.

@@gabriellass2508 I dont AFK with a farm like this. It would take too long to get entity cramming to do much of anything. When I need to fix tools/armor or need something like gunpowder, I just slash at the mobs from the front window area.

on 31/07 works perfectly fine. be sure to be on the right altitude, and not too close to your friends... spawn way less when people are around. I used warps to and from neher to be far enough but still close. ^^ Thank you very much my kind sir.

I was really excited to build this farm so I could get to enchanting my items - since there were so many comments saying it's the best farm they've built, and the rates are really good. However, I mostly followed the guide , and my mob rates are extremely low. I have mine above ground, at y=240. I even did what some other comments suggested of replacing the roof slabs with solid blocks to properly prevent light, and placed another layer of slabs on top to prevent mob spawns, but the rates are still extremely slow. Not sure what could have gone wrong, or if they changed something recently. The ONLY deviation I had in mine was that I placed signs above the water sources in each lane to prevent them from freezing since my mob farmer was in a snowy biome. I'm not sure if that could've made such a drastic difference though.

This is actually one of the best farms for this type of design, I’ve tried many of these but they never really gave me good rates or xp but with this one…its worth every block. I don’t really like building those mega xp farms the ones with portals or glass of layers so I love this one! Also very clear instructions and easy to follow!

I built this on a small friend server that has similar farms, but this one is so efficient that we're actually running out of space for everything. We can't grow trees fast enough to make chests to keep it all in. You wouldn't have some advanced storage system we could build that connects to this, would you?

I’m confused tho because wouldn’t it make more sense to do full blocks and not half slabs on the top because the slabs allow light to pass through and would make no spawns on the top during the day right? But putting torches or bottom slabs on top of the full blocks roof to spawn proof it

Spiders spawned regardless of the 9 slabs per square so I took those out in an attempt to increase overall spawn rates. It now works like a charm. Goodluck!

Use turtle eggs on each level in the middle of the tube 2 blocks up to improve rates because zombies will try to stomp on them and fall down the tube
