This was a interesting lesson. I have a similar frame snd plan to try your lesson. However, a year later and I’m still struggling over your chandelier. I really liked it, but can’t seem to do it justice.

Do you know what you dislike about your chandelier painting? Until you discover what that is, it's difficult to change it to how you like it. Yours does not does not need to look the same as mine to be good either...but you probably already know that. 😁 Every painting is practice and you'll get to where you can paint whatever you want with practice and the knowledge from my lessons. Awesome tutorial video, congrats! I also want to ask you about the curing process. I want to try it with a dollar tree frame, but I`m afraid it will crack inside the oven. Have you used those before? Or any other cure method?

I have not used the glass from a dollar tree frame. Make sure the oven is cool to begin with and you let it cool down before taking the glass out. You're only out a dollar frame if it cracks, so I would try out how it handles in the oven, before I paint on it. Good luck!

No. If you cure it in the oven, it wont. I have had this painting in my bathroom in which it's had contact with water and it looks new.

@@Createfulart ahh OK sorry I commented before the video had finnished, bet it is annoying when people do that. I have been looking at the anime glass painting that people do, but they do it on the back of the glass, doing the outline first, and filling the paint in after, so I don't think they bake it. But it's interesting to know you can bake it, thanks :)

@@BlakeArtworks no worries. Yes using the inside of the glass allows the glass to protect the work. But humidity can still get inside and ruin it if placed in a place like a bathroom. So that's why I baked mine. Have fun getting creative!

@@Createfulart thanks, yes that is a point. Out of curiosity, is it bake for 30mins from when you put it in the oven or from when it gets to 350°? :)

@@BlakeArtworks when you place it in. I'm sure ovens warm up at different rates but this will give enough time to cure even if your oven is slower, yet won't over cure it which will discolor the paint. 👍 Its important to not place the glass in an already hot oven as it will crack.

@@annek8979 yeah I don't think heating acrylics is a very good idea and painting on frame glass doesn't sound all that safe to begin with....seems like an accident waiting to happen 😬

Especially if professional paints are used that has any cadmiums or other poisonous ingredients

Cadmiums are not used in this tutorial. Nor would I recommend using any harmful chemicals in paints. Check the back of paints to find the non-toxic label. There are also options for cadmium free paints.

@@Createfulart I’m a beginner, so I just googled the best acrylic paint for glass. I’m just using folkart multi surface paint, it comes out really streaky

@@KristianDiaz6 you will need to add multiple layers. Make sure the underlying layer is completely dry before you add another layer or paint will lift. Just add layers until the paint looks more solid and less streaky.

What if your glass is very big...no oven...how do you make it permanen for outdoor sign with sun and rain.?

It has to reach a certain temperature for a short amount of time to become permanent.

@@nandinimaheshwari3625 I have never tried that, but I understand that varnish protects the paint from discoloration from light and allows careful cleaning without ruining the artwork. It doesn't bind the paint to the surface of glass, that's what the heat does. But experimenting is how we figure things out. You could always try it by adding some leftover paint and cheap or throw away glass. When it dries see if you can scrape off thr paint.
