The Monkey's Fist is a fairly simple 'decorative' knot that is quite easy to master once you have the basic principle. Once you get the hang of it the number of passes (and resulting size) are easily adjusted. Here I make a 4-strand Monkey Fist using ungutted 550 Paracord and a 5/8" marble for the core.
