People have called Simple Plan whiny brats for decades now, but what they don't realize is that their music made an entire generation of abused kids feel like they were actually heard and not alone in their suffering. Thankfully, I was never abused by my parents as a kid, but my mom went through a terrible abusive relationship a few years ago, she's with an amazing woman now who treats her so good, but after that experience, I relate to these songs so much more than I did.

Now, being a single father to my daughter. I will say it's hard, like many struggles will come as a parent, but let's try to understand them a little better because some of us gone through so much as a child, a teenager and heck to adulthood. Let's not give our children the same bad/hard treatment that some of us already experienced. We should strive to become their role model and guide them to a better future. Edit: missing period. Lol

I bit my tongue and when I finally got a moment alone, I came here, looking for a song to speak to me. This masterpiece touched me in ways no other song has. I'm so sorry I can't be perfect, Dad. All I can think of is all of the years and time we've spent together, and how you saved me from my abusive relationship with my Mom. I didn't want to lose you, too. My mum use to abuse me and was always getting help for addictions in parents health programs. My dad distracted me. My dad was the one who saw me like no one and always told me I was great when no one else did. Then he became the reason I was alone and told me I was a mistake. too many fights. this song is sad indeed.

I can’t pretend that I’m fine anymore. I can’t be perfect even though I tried. My family is suffering. My mom is depressed, my dad never has time for me and my brother is on drugs. And I don’t see a better future coming. Everything is so sad right now. I can’t be the perfect child and I can’t continue with this.
@venii66456 жыл бұрын
Claudia Baca,for me there is a better future,and i know that you have a better future "stay strong and be happy" You don't need to be perfect,because in other people's eye's your perfect for who you become and for what you are. For me im hurt either This is about family either,it's just that im not that depressed,but im still depressed of something That will leave a scar in my heart and in my life I can't be a perfect daughter too and i accept that Because i don't like my self being perfect Some people are judging and bullying me,and i don't care anymore. Because it's not my problem and responsibility It's there problem. Not mine They belong in my back not in front me Claudia Baca,don't let pain /make a decision-control your life Stay for who you are. If there is a way that i can help you,maybe iv'e already done it in the past But even a power i don't have any But still "KINDNESS AND STAYING STRONG IS POWER" STAY TOUGH💪 STAY STRONG💪 STAY KIND😊💞🔆

Hey everything's going to get better... it might not seem like it right now but it will. My depression seems to be a bit healed because now i live separately from my family, i live on a boarding house in a big city for college. Even though I'm studying for what my dad wants and broke, i still feel it's such a relief to be here. I don't know about what I'm going to do next, it's all up to my dad's plan. But the main problem is not that, it's about my sister's mental health. She said to me through a message, she's tired of everything. Her mind tells her to end her life immediately. She also diagnosed with first stage liver swelling. Idk what to do.... My mom and my grandma miss me every single day, because I was the one who always made them feel better. But i was fucking depressed at that time. I wore a fake mask, i was so miserable.... I want to rescue all of them. Dad, I miss the old you. - your daughter🍭

Clara Elisa . you have to learn to achieve things amd be all you can be for YOU and noone else. I was just telling my bf how i still get upset over my dad not showing me praise for what im doing. People are miserable and want others to be miserable too. Misery loves company
@haleyjohnston92056 жыл бұрын
Amber Caffrey truer words have never been spoken; "misery loves company" Even father's can secretly want us to join them in theirs.... but we can't give les miserables that kind of company. It takes too much from the soul. It's hard, I know. Especially if you have a caring, sympathetic nature.. But there comes a time when u will learn u should have been looking out for number one. Period.. -Think about it-EverYBodY else has been doing just that all along. I simply missed the memo at birth and didn't catch on... Still haven't. My kindness has been mistaken for weekness most of my life. And maybe it is?? Just... don't ever expect ppl to do for u what u would do for them. . . Or u will be sorely disappointed most of your life. Sorry for the negativity, had a bad day over here. Hope all of yours goes better than mine has! ♡ to all who read this..

Maybe it's not,but I already feel like it's too late,and I'm twelve.Many times my dad said things I forgave.But I always thought it was the last time.I always thought he wouldn't tell me any of that,just like everyone else.But I'm wrong,and as you see,I forgive him all the time,and he just betrays me again and again.Do you think it's not too late already?Fine,but next time he says it,it'll be hard to make me want to forgive him.
@bingedrinker20288 жыл бұрын
You don't have to forgive him. I pretty much had the same feeling all my life and I just stopped forgiving him when it was finally too much for me to handle. Living with it without being ok with what he says was easier for me then just being ok with his words. I believe every child has his own way to go through a "rough" childhood but I just wanna make sure you don't think there is only one way ! Good luck for your life little guy/girl, don't ever stop believing :)

He just wants you to have a good future, like how he imagines it. Also, I think it's harder for guys to show their mushy feelings and love. My parents are like that too. Idk what to do. I'm trying to be casual and positive whenever they sweat the small stuff, but when I confront them about their attitudes, they say it's just their age. ...So maybe it's just an age thing too..

He ignores me, looks at me with disappointment and anger, and when he's not ignoring me, yells at me. I'm trying so hard dad to do my best, I'm trying I swear!😭 I'm not doing anything wrong, it's just who I am, why can't you accept me? Why can't I live my life happy? I hope nobody has dad like mine... If so then I'm with you, and I'm sorry.
