In the future, please show the finished panel on a rod. Thanks! Love your videos, they are easy to follow!

Thank you! You are right, we should have put the finished photo at the end of the video also, not just as the thumbnail. We will definitely keep that in mind for future videos. We will be starting some roman shade variants soon! :)

The info about selvages is great....wish I'd seen it before. When I made my valences for the kitchen (also using your video), the one for the wider window, I did had a few issues puckering, I had to pull out some stitches and redo a part of it....maybe this was the cause. I'm looking now to do a small curtain (or pair??) for our kitchen door (farmhouse style door). I'm not sure if I want to line it, or just do double of the print fabric, as I'd like the print to show both outside and in. The door has 9 glass panes, the area I'd be covering would be approximately 2' wide x 3' tall. Any suggestions for this application? Thanks for these great videos, I'm really learning a lot.

Thank you for watching! If you decide to use the print on both sides, just be cautious of how they line up because when the light shines through, it will show if they are off. You can always use an interlining to hide the pattern. If you do decide on pattern on both sides, I would cut and sew right sides together, flip and then make your top header and bottom hem. Hope this helps!

Thank you for this, how to you handle the laundering factor? Should we prewash fabric if we are using something other than Home dec? Thanks!
@BeyondFabric Жыл бұрын
Great question! Even with home dec fabric, if it is something I know I will be washing, then I always prewash before making. Typically cold wash and flat dry or tumble dry low. On any of the fabrics, you remove the sizing when washing, so the fabric will not be as crisp when hung, but you can always starch if you need to for the look. I prewashed the fabric in the video- it was home dec and it washed up fabulously.

I couldn't find a tutorial on lining a panel. Is it basically the same process as lining the valance in your other video (which was very helpful, thank you!)?
@BeyondFabric Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is similar except the lining and the panel would be hemmed separately and then you would position the lining about 1/2" from the bottom edge. The panel side hem should be pressed then the lining slides under and the side hem is stitched down. Hope this helps!

I am 80 years old and I have learned so much from you. Just one thing, the pattern on the ironing board is very distractive. Maybe a solid dark color would be better? Either way, I' be back for more.
