Simple roof design? For me a simple roof design has all the same pitch and wall height. Boy you covered a lot in this video and demonstrated many techniques that will be useful in the future. Must add this to my watch again later. Thanks for sharing Drew.

Thank you for all these videos. Your work flow is spectacular. I started using sketch up in '07. My use of it has been in large bursts over the years--not very consistent, but I'm at it again. I'm an older contractor who needs to get out of the field and I'm hoping to parlay my experience with sketchup and hands on building into a new way of earning my keep. It's been roof geometry that have been most fascinated with the whole time.You're so great to have taken the time to put the videos together. You've taught me a great deal. The pace of the videos are perfect. I quickly get the idea you're demonstrating and then can re-watch to pick up the finer points. I've watched a lot of sketchup videos over the years, but this one took me the farthest in the shortest amount of time. Thanks for your time and expertise in putting this together. This was my first roof and I got through it! I got part way in with the "simple" roof, then started a "real simple" roof (rectangular footprint, gable one end, hip the other, offset ridge). I could not get the trim function with the circle tool to work very well since even though I could select the part to get rid of, it deleted part of the good end. I wonder if it was because I don't have the pro version. There were a few "magic moments" 28:15 and 47:18 to be specific, where I had to figure it out on my own. Anyway, thanks.

Learning much but one thing I can’t figure out. You created the Skeleton and Rafter Group and Exploded the subgroups into those groups. Then after creating 10 copies of the Roof Plane Solid Groups you moved a copy under each of the subgroups in Rafters and Skeleton Groups. How did you get those subgroups to reappear?
