Simple Shoemaking: Make your own Soles with an Edge!

Soles with an Edge! is a product that I make and sell. It's an outdoor sole for footwear with a band of suede standing up around its edge with holes punched in it; footwear-makers can make a boot, sit it down inside the Soles with an Edge!, stitch it to the edge, and create boots that can be worn outdoors.
Especially if you make shoes from fabric, you might want to make your own Soles with an Edge! to complement the upper of your shoe. Of course you wouldn't make holes in your band, you would simply stitch your shoe to the band.

Hi, where is the outer rubber sole from? Did you buy that or make yourself? Also, at the 6min mark in the video, how did you stitch the top layer into the sole/bottom piece of the shoe? Stitch by hand or machine?

How do you stitch the upper to the raised edge when the upper already has felt sewn to the bottom? I was thinking of using the stitching awl but wondering how to do that when I get to the vamp area?

What kind of cement do you used? What is it called? Also, what type of thread do you use to make the stitching?
