I had to teach a ski lesson to a Swedish child once, and I don't speak Swedish. So I did my best to use Google translate on my phone to find a few phrases that I needed to know. When the parents picked up their child they said he told them I "sound like a deaf person." I'm ok with that.

I was in a much stranger situation where they wanted me to teach a Svensk tonåring their French d word (she was byx.. don't worry), but they changed their mind because the US samlag statistics are so bad even though I went through umo and many more and all that. Today I found out my two specific counties I lived in actually beats their statistics, something rare for America. Never mind. Doesn't matter, the vatoriet, all the walks in the skog, the is skating, helping her build her PC, the amazing conversations, etc where great memories now.

About the "Blue locker" (blå skåpet). Blue paint was usually a lot more expensive than other colours back in the days which is why you only painted your finest furniture in blue (like your locker). It was a sign of prosperity. Wouldn't it be a shame if someone took a shit in your finest piece of furniture?

I love how with the grammar parts you can just say "And this similar sounding word is the same as Also." It's so much easier than lots of other languages where you have to learn entirely different grammar structures.

@MikePolOfficial How so? It is a Northern Germanic language as English is, English sprang from Frisians, who came from folks in the Dutch, Danish and German lowlands about 2,000 years ago. English still has words like "Swimmer" which is still a close word to "Schwimmer" in german We all have related words in all Germanic languages, English is just more directly influenced by the Viking raids more, and Latin by French. However we still are closer to Dutch than any other Germanic spoken.

@howtoteachers The thing is how certain sounds change in speech when you speak fast. It's very common for "du" to sounds like "ru" (though most Swedes won't conciously hear that this is happening). "Har du" will often sound like it should be written "ha'ru". Also common is the disappearance of the ending "t", especially in very common words like "det". So if spoken real fast the sentence can sound like it should be written "Nu ha'ru all skidi i re blå skåpe". (May vary with dialect)

Here's something for you guys to forget: The two swedish "gift-words" and the english word gift are actuall all the same. Poison is something that, whether the recipient wants it or not, you "give" to a person, and the gift(=married) isn't really about the marriage, but the gift that the bride and groom's families used to give each other to "pay" for the man or woman that was going to be married into their family. Now you know; and knowing is the first part in forgetting! :)

Ok, and I must say that you speak very fast so I have trouble understanding which letter produces which sound, but I'm confident I'll fully master Swedish by the end of the week thanks to your videos :) Tack!

Det går säkert inte att bestämma exakt men de flesta listorna nämner samma språk fast inte i samma ordning. Kinesiska och arabiska ligger högt upp liksom även finska på vissa listor. Sök på "list of the hardest languages" så dyker det upp ett helt gäng :)

"now you have crapped in the blue locker" has to do with the 5th ray, also known as the 5th chakra (the throat). It is in that density that payback occurs. Remember though that in the larger sense, the paying back is of self to self, and is thus, never not loving. The Creator would never intentionally cause harm, likewise at that level, 5th ray (blue locker), the shitting in the locker is actually a form of gift. You can use it to grow flowers, for instance.

@howtoteachers well I'm quite the beginner with the swedish language and I can hear him say it. " it" ,however, refers to the way "har du allt" is pronounced in spoken swedish (talande svenska). He does not say distinctively " HAR DU ALLT". He rather says "HARU ALLT". HAR + DU = HARU (drop the d in DU) Then, add the "allt" rather quickly as though it was indeed one big word :"HARDUALLT"...hope that helps

@dropdeadgorgeous85 "English is just more directly influenced by the Viking raids more, and Latin by French." Meaning we have Latin words in large part from the French... I said the Latin we do have in the English language is in a large part because of the Norman conquest, they inserted many Latin words into our language, but English is still a Germanic language through and through, but our closest language is Dutch, with German and the Nordic languages next in line.
