LED grow lights Seedlings Place LED grow lights 24-36 inches above the plant canopy. This distance helps prevent seedlings from drying out. Vegetative stage Move the lights closer to the plants, 12-24 inches away, to provide more light for photosynthesis. Flowering stage Move the lights closer to the top of the canopy, 18-24 inches away, to produce flowers. T5 fluorescents Place T5 fluorescents 5-6 inches away from seedlings.
