I've done this in a couple of areas but I like the idea of building sets and not having to be tied to having to play entire songs. I'm glad I watched this video. It opened up something to help develop better sets.

Thanks for the resources and video. Curious on the total number of songs you sing within a year? Do you have a limited playlist or is that always evolving. Have some old training from Worship Rocket and they were big on 30-35 songs (similar to radio play) for continuity from the bands and familiarity for the congregation.

I typically lead on the higher side.... maybe around 70 different songs per year? But at my new church (less expressive) I'm finding they need a little more repetition. How about you?

@@WorshipMinistryTraining Got it, seems to be more of a trend but I continue to see less and less people singing in the congregation so just curious. Probably depends on the types of songs as well. More hymnal songs are probably ok as a lot of people know them from various denominations but the modern songs it's hard because there are so many. I'd like to see a shortened list like radio stations follow of 30-35. Especially if people are only coming to church 1-2/month. No wonder their not singing.

Good tips. I use this too, but I don't do this every worship service or as much. Do you find singing 6 different songs in a 20 minute set being a bit much for people - like worship whiplash? Do some folks say they miss singing the entire song? I know some would be disappointed to not sing the entire song they love and connect with. Thanks!

Agree! I don't do it every week. I usually do 1 tag MOST weeks (but not all). Rarely (once every 6 or 7 weeks) will I do this multi-song approach. What do you think?
@kingcrimАй бұрын
@@WorshipMinistryTraining Ahhh... yeah we tag on a chorus or part of a hymn most weeks, but I do love building blocks of songs with a strong theme and even doing responsive readings too. I don't know how many folks still do those...

@@kingcrim You sound like a great leader. I'm glad you're reading Scripture aloud with your church! I still do that too, so at least there's 2 of us! :)
