Shore fishing for some fish to eat for dinner. In this video I'm bouncing around to some different fishing locations trying to catch Sheepshead on Mud Crabs. It took a couple of stops, but I got the job done. This is by far one of the easiest ways to catch Sheepshead. Using Mud Crabs for bait I think is a very simple way to get this species to bite.

Thanks for watching and commenting. Relentless red tide killed fish for one entire year three years ago and then red tide wiped out fish for 9 months last year in this area, also 5 years ago we had massive red tide fish kills. This is the reason fishing is tough in our area, not because I make videos. If locals recognize a spot that's great, but I only announce where I'm fishing about once or twice a year out of 450 fishing adventures published on Yotube. When I do let viewers know where I'm fishing it's usually a public pier on the beach somewhere. This works two ways, the guy who watches my video and gets upset because I show a location is the same guy who watches my videos to find a location to fish.

@@RadReelingFishing absolutely I think this summer is gonna be great fishing didn’t get hit with any redtide in 2023 thank god think a lot of our red tide issues were a direct result from a specific waste water plant here locally they were caught dumping millions of gallons into a run off that lead to Phillipi creek and the epa fined the hell out of em but once they stopped dumping redtide didn’t affect this area hopefully we see the same result this year

We never had much luck fishing the small canal bridges for sheepshead, etc. The big pass bridges hold a lot more fish, especially in the deeper water near the channels, by the fender pilings. Hard to fish them in windy and rainy weather though, especially from a kayak, if fishing from the bridge is not an option.

Great video. Thanks. Catch n cook is appealing to me big time. Have always heard that Sheepshead were difficult to clean. Appreciate the demo showing it's not all that difficult. Do you use the wagon on the beach or is that strictly bridge and pier? Beach carts have become quite pricey. This video was informative, enjoyable and made me hungry for fish sliders. Subscribed and following. After 40 years away from fishing I am returning. Ohhhh, the fun!

Hey JC, love watching your catch and cook videos. Do you ever fish for Speckled Trout? I have a place that is killing the trout. Me and one friend caught 121 trout in one morning. DOA lure that you already use a lot for snook. Sheepshead are schooling on my dock and easy to catch if you have crabs or small shrimp with small hooks. Also, catching redfish (mainly rats but some smaller legal slot fish too) by the dozens with live shrimp. 🍤 Hit me up if you want to give ‘er a go with me. Weather looks like it’s going to get a little nicer over the next week so it’s time to get my boat on some spots. Sounds like Captain Todd landed a 40”+ snook from the cove which we can sight fish from the boat. He used live shrimp. I like the white bait but the closest guy in Cortez with pilchards isn’t opening up until February. If we go to Manatee to get our bait from Matt then it’s best to fish that area. More snook and bigger reds up river on the Manatee. Or we can always try our friends at our friendly bait shop for some shrimpy tasting snook! 😂

I'd invest in a drop net or make one instead dragging a fish to the bank if there is even a place to go. There's a net on amazon for 16 dollars that would be good to make one, Dovesun Fishing Net. Just need a rod to make the hoop and some para cord and maybe a few carabiners. I made a net for my jon boat from a X large sports equipment bag that is about 24in in dia an 4 or 5 foot long and a length of 3/8 in. alum rod to hang over the side to keep fish alive when I'm Crappie,White Bass,Yellow Perch, etc. fishing that's equivalent to making a drop net.
