Appreciating the small moments really changed a lot for me. Years ago I was also hunting vacations or special events. But I came to the conclusion that this actually made me unhappy. I was depressed everytime I came back from vacation. Now I try to integrate "mini vacations: into my daily life, like taking a walk, reading a book, and spending a lot of time in nature. This brings joy into my life almost every day. 😊

One of the ways I've found to add joy is to pair my coffee in the morning with jazz, a candle, and either a book or watching all the wildlife in my backyard. The books lend to aha moments and self reflection, and the creatures living their lives lead to a simple sense of wonder. There is so much to be amazed by in our natural world if we take the time to slow down and appreciate it 💚

When I think of joy, I am reminded of the birth of my first child. Watching my wife endure 36 hours of labour was excruciating, but seeing my daughter born brought joy! More recently, watching a slide show at my nephew’s wedding of him from baby to newly wed, and seeing him (as a baby)in a picture in my father’s arms brought joy. Seeing my dad again, after being dead for 10 years. People bring joy.😎

"Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional". That hit me and it's timely for me. Just walked away from a place I didn't belong. Finally I was able to open my eyes to the truth and see what's more on the other side rather than focusing on something that I wasn't feeling worthy. Now, mindfulness to me is crucial more than ever. I've had similar experience like that but they way I handle it is more graceful and self-compassionate. Thanks for all of these reminders, Sophie 😊🥰😊

Another inspirational video. Thank you. These days I really enjoy and appreciate a good ordinary day. I no longer look forward to special days, I mean, why wait, when I can make an ordinary day feel special.Take today for example, I enjoyed a nice afternoon coffee session with my sister at our favourite coffee place, it was raining so heavily outside and we just chatted. That felt really special. After that we enjoyed a nice and slow walk home. These are the small things in life that means a lot to me. And brings me a lot of joy. Hope your day was beautiful too.

I always bring my sketchbook, where ever I go. So now I have a timeline of sketchbooks and creations from since I was in elementary school. Art to me is as healing & a way of channeling and exploring my inside as for many other people music is. But for me the difference is, that creating for me is active & a choice, whereas music is an epic mystery to me, which i enjoy passively. When I seek inspiration or comfort I go back to my old art, because I know that I will always have art as an option for self expression which is such a comforting truth for me. Art saved me from giving up, and now I know I can overcome a lot, because the proof for that is shown in every single piece of my art. This video really touched me, sending love to you! - a German Woman

I loved this video...you always help me to get back on track in my pursuing a different kind of life for myself .. Also a very important thing about your vlog is the way you TALK ABOUT SPONSORS. I LOVE that you mention them briefly yet somehow we find out all the right details about them in a non disturbing way ..I recently commented on other vlog of fashion stylist who would put long promotions on her channel asking to really pay attention to that as it was so tiring... I know and truly understand the need of sponsors ...and I must say the way you mention them is amazing ..you don't feel it's a promotion at all...it feels like you respect your viewers...so thank you❤️

I totally understand what you mean by “squeezing the last drop of pleasure” by elevating the daily routine. For me, the biggest joy in life is my morning routine. Before the sun rises, before everyone’s awake, I love the feeling of getting a head start and putting my mindset in a positive space before I start out my day. I’ve been conscious about spending time with each of my kitties too, and it just starts my day filled with love. Thank you for letting us always reflect back on the simple things in life, which brings greatest impact to our lives. Mahalo

Again Sophie, thank you for the beautiful views you show in your videos. I also like the part of where you are making tea with the wooden cup and the wooden whisk (I think that's what its called). I live here in Japan and see those every now and then, however, is that also a Korean way of making tea as well? Are they the same instruments, with the wooden cup and whisk, also used in Korrea? I'd be interested to know. Last week you sent me well wishes for my family in Europe and I just wanted to say thank you very much. I left out that my family there is in Germany and Spain. Not as dangerous as living in the Ukraine, however, they are feeling the sanctiioins and their governments switching the suppliers for oil and natural gas to other suppliers like Qatar and other places. I still worry that the wrong thing can spark a major war in Europe and I don't want to be reactivated in the military and have to go over there but it looks like it's going to change. At least I hope. Thank you again for helping me forget about that and I would like to see a video on recipes that you make in your videos. If you think that's something you might like to do.
