Gifter. I really like the way you used the cane for the top in this project. And you’re right, the contrast between the woods looks really good. I’d buy plans for this one if you make them, I can think of a few people I can build these for. Thanks for sharing, your work and videos are always so inspiring.

Thanks man! Yeah, the contrast works really well with this one. I’ll add you to plan tally. Thanks for watching!

Both gifter and keeper. I would make 3 of these trays: keep one and give the other 2 to my best friends. This tray is just too nice to make only one. I came for the expert woodcrafting and I stayed for the excellent dry humor sprinkled throughout the videos. 👍

Keeper. I like to 'test drive' concepts on family before I do something to be gifted. Your wife will love that, and as a fellow maker of things from dead tree segments, I know my own woodworking widow appreciates it when I do something just for her. I also appreciated the "...move to the forest and curse people..." comment. I'm at the point I need an entire county to myself. I'd also recommend going outside and yelling at clouds, too. Very therapeutic!

That’s a good point and probably one I should be doing more often haha.

I agree with someone else here who said "seller". It's pretty, but i can be a messy eater and looks like crumbs and spills would go straight through the table and onto the bed sheets (and a weave material is difficult to clean, too). So, not for me to keep or gift, but could be popular as a sell... i e., allow people do decide for themselves if it will fit their purpose. Oh, and I'm sure if i tried making this i would defo find ways to stuff it up at each step! You make it look easy!

What crosscut sled are you using in this project? Also love the videos!
@TimberBiscuitWoodworks3 ай бұрын
It's the autoscale miter sled from woodpeckers. Thanks mate, happy to hear that!
@HurdCraftersАй бұрын
I tried to find my last comment regarding the woodpeckers autoscale but cant find it. I ended up making my own cross cut sled that has the same feature that the autoscale has with regards to keeping the measurement scale the same no matter the angle. I may have a short if the sled posted soon. I need a good flip stop. Would you please tell me What the dimensions of the woodpeckers flip stop is? My sled uses 8020 extruded aluminum as the fence so i need something that would be the same or less that 3.15” or 80mm tall. I also need the horizontal dimension from edge if fence to the attachment point on the sled. I hope that makes sense. I appreciate you.

Do you have a dedicated woodshop that is a separate building on your property? Or do you use your garage with all your woodworking equipment in it?

It’s just my garage. I’d love to have a dedicated shop building one day, but for now I’ll have to keep stashing our outdoor stuff in the closet haha

Keeper. I want to ensure I know how to do it first. Then I will do the gifter. However, although I try to replicate something, I rarely do. My work is not yet that consistent.
@TimberBiscuitWoodworks3 ай бұрын
That’s a solid strategy. One thing that helps me, is to batch out small projects at the same time on the second go around. This way every thing is consistent and I don’t have to reset a bunch of times.
