You aren't the first person I've heard mention let's call them "growing pains" with the grainfather systems. In my country they are easily 3 times more expensive than the digiboil or brewzilla. And having went with literally the cheapest 65lt option I've had 0 issues with anything. I'm so glad I didn't buy a grainfather or even the brewzilla. Alot of extras that aren't well made and can be added to a base system for minimal extra cost. I mean my mate has gone through 1 pump and 2 display units in 3 years spending more on replacements than I payed for a whole system double his size! I absolutely love your videos this is just my experience with higher priced all in one systems.

Haha, I love how you don't edit out the minor mistakes and mishaps from your videos. Reminds me of Tim Allen from Home Improvement.

Thanks for the video, you should set yourself up a keezer, easy to do cold crash transfers and heaps of room for kegs, I've just set one up that'll hold 6 kegs with room to spare, love it

Hi Stu, a keezer was a thought but I don't have room. I have a KegKing three keg fridge and my little fridge in the shed it works, but, the convenience of a large keezer would be so good. I have 6 kegs and sometimes it's needed.

hi Pierre, i tried wetting the grain as per many say is a good idea. I didn't notice any difference in brew. But definitely more time consuming to clean sticky rollers . Enjoyed your video as usual !!

Interesting! I was thinking about giving it a go but after seeing your comment I think I will give it a miss.

Looks great! Now I want to brew an Irish Red 🤣 Except I have my toast beer sitting in a fermenter, 3 full(ish) kegs in my kegerator and a Scottish wee heavy and Irish blonde waiting in the bullpen. Plus I need to think about a dry stout for Saint Paddy's day!

Great video, my friend, been looking forward to this!! I'm not to sure but the sparge tells me your mash got a bit stuck, idk, I've had a stuck mash before once and it just trickled out when I was sparging, should gush out, not sure tho cause you're brewing on a different system. I've done a bunch of brews since last commenting, got a white wine mead coming up, an ESB with my own freshly grown EKG hops and a lutra kveik pilsner. Cheers mate!!! 👌👍🍻

Hey Qunny94, I wondered where you had got to. I agree with you I too feel the mash got stuck, I may need to grind my grain a little thicker next time! I still got a good result at the end so I'm happy. I am yet to use Kveik yeast of any kind I hear so many good things about it. Thanks for popping in. Cheers.

Wetting the grain makes the husks smoother, so that they stay intact. They should not be too wet though. So I dont think you wet them because of the dust. Cool brew!

Hey mate, nice looking brew, I’ll have a look at that on Brewfather, cheers. How come you didn’t use any Fermcap to avoid boil overs ?

How have you been going with AG, mate? Did ya end up getting a brewzilla? Kit and kilo is good, you can make some bloody good beers with that but AG gives you a bit more freedom with brewing, can brew what you like and not limited to what lme you can get at the time. Cheers mate!! 👌👍🍻

Hi Quinny, yes AG is going great mate, I ended up going with the Digiboil, no complaints yet & have made some amazing beers, I think I’m up to batch 9 on my next AG. I do fifo work so looking to get the 65L Brewzilla and do a double batch on my time off, then ferment & CC whilst away as I’m purchasing the Inkbird WIFI , keg when home.

I have heard of Fermcap it has been a thought since I watch Bitter Reality Brewings video on it. I haven't needed to use it yet as I am always watching my boil. Thanks for the tip.

Hey mate, nice looking brew. Just one question, why didn’t you use some Fermcap ( Antifoam ) to avoid boil overs ?

Why no Flaked corn? Isn't that a major part of a cream ale
@SimpleHomeBrew Жыл бұрын
Hi @davidwood8300, I'm sure you mean flaked oats! I followed the recipe on Grainfathers website to try it. As it stands the beer was pretty good without it but, I will definitely be using flaked oats in my next batch. Cheers
