I am almost surprised to not see any form of drain in you garage! I know that you have some plans to protect you garage from water, but even mine which is built up on a rise has a small outlet drain.

C'mon with your concrete truck Y'all. Your crew did a great job with the setup and finishing, and the pour looked nice and chunky. Didn't see them pull up the rebar higher during the pour, but I'm sure they know what they're doing. Maybe consider a retaining wall at the back of the shop with drainage pipe to help with erosion on that steep hill? Can't wait to see the garage come to life!

I'm So Happy For You!! My Husband got his shop a few years ago!! We had the concrete company put fibers in the mix. It's 6" thick. But your Finishers make the Dream Work!!! We live in Spokane Wa and we get snow and a hard freeze for about 3 months so we put a Gas Mr Heater! It's Amazing!! Congratulations!! I'm So Happy For You!! 😊⚘❤

Be sure and seal your concrete two coats before you start construction to save your concrete from future oil stains etc. The concrete guys told hubby that there is a special sealant we put in a round tall container that he would have to hand pump every so often with a short spray hose on it. Then hubby would refill when he emptied it to spray some more. I think our garage is a triple car and 32 foot deep. Lots of room for the boat, cars and a shop area for hubby lolol Just love it.

Don't tell me you forgot again !! Didn't I hear you say something last week about inserting "J"- Bolts for the walls while the concrete was wet? With your compressor being outside the garage make sure you drain it regularly especially in the winter so any moisture in the tank doesn't freeze and split the air tank.

Put a water sprinkler on the pad and run the water in the mornings when the concrete is cool. The concrete will absorb the water and it will strengthen the concrete. I did this on my 30x60 pad for my garage and fifteen years later I have almost no cracks.

That smile says it all. And I can understand that, every man who works on autos need a flat level place to work. Makes it a lot easier and safer. That is on my list too. a nice flat slab where i can pull a car or truck into and work and not have to worry about the weather or the time of year. Congratulations on your garage start. The outside air compressor is very smart, they get loud and you dont want to have to listen to that while you are trying to get things done.

How wildly exciting! I remember well the euphoria after having concrete poured...I've only got 4 reservations about your garage build that I pray doesn't end up biting you in the behind. 1) Garage at the bottom of a hill-I'd put in a drain at the front of the apron(I'da put it IN the apron) as your concrete will settle over time 2) no drain in the garage in case of horrendous downpours that make it into the garage 3) rebar is placed in the middleish of the concrete pad for increased support-yours was laid on the plastic 4) Assuming future hopes for a car lift, I'd have dug pits in the dirt around where you plan to place the lift for additional support to the concrete...Nonetheless feeling excited that I'll soon watch you get cracking on building the ceiling/roof over the basement. Building is so satisfying-it's something you'll continue to feel wonder and that huge sense of accomplishment forever.

is there fiber mesh in the concrete? All the rebar in the slab is useless unless you "chair" it up or pull it up as you place the concrete, it's just laying flat underneath the concrete it should be up 3 inches in the center of the slab. Also you should put your anchor bolts in while it's still wet so your not wasting time/money later. Just trying to help😁 Cheers from Canada!🇨🇦
