Lactulose at the end of the shift is a priceless tip. 😂😂😂 I remember being new giving Lactulose and 💩 ran like the might rivers on a bedbound obese patient. Literal tears came to my eyes after the 2nd cleanup.

Me too .. almost had a fight w my bf. I was like so bile transports bilirubin to the spleen and then spleen coverts bilirubin to bile and sends it as bile bk to the liver???? Damn... But i guess i wasn't listening right... Bile transports dead RBC na hemoglobins (to the spleen, these dead rbc are then converted to bilirubin, transported bk to the into the bloodstream.... Okay .. i quit... I'm confused again😊😳😳😳😳

I was a daily drinker for ten years. I also don't know how long I've had hep c. I was diagnosed this, based off bloodwork, during a hospital visit, for an unrelated injury. They said advanced liver disease. If I had cirrhosis, they would of told me, right? And can I repair my liver?

Quick question: 1. Once the patient is treated for cirrhosis , does the ammonia that is already produced during the liver dysfunctional period still preside in the body and not excreted out in the form of stool or urine? 2) can 97 umol/L be considered to be high ammonia level for a female patient of 55 years of age? Thanks a lot in advance

Does anyone know where the bit on hepatitis is?
@eugkra336 жыл бұрын
I think I'm recovering from a medium amount of HE, but it's been over a year since I had it pretty bad. I've changed my diet, and done a lot of other things to get rid of 80% of it. I never got tested specifically for this, though. Would just a regular test detect it? Especially now that I'm a lot better? Is there even a point to going to the doctor?

I posted a comment that I barely remember making. The comment was unfair so I removed it. I suffer from minimal HE and this was outside the scope of this video, but it is an important topic since it seriously affects quality of life. For instance, we may make unfair comments on youtube videos and start unnecessary controversy :)

Two minor issues: 1) protein restriction is only recommended now for acute HE or intractable HE; restriction used to be routine but hepatologists now are more concerned about malnutrition so many times they are encouraging moderately high protein diets. However, restriction is appropriate for acute cases. 2) Lactulose doesn't exactly draw ammonia from the blood. Rather, it binds to it in the gut and prevents it from entering the bloodstream, and it speeds transit time, reducing absorption.
