I made Tanabata decorations using square memo pads from the 100-yen store (^^).
I used memo pads this time because having the same color on both sides hides imperfections, but of course, you can also use origami paper.
The initial step of cutting a pentagon from a square is a bit challenging, but once you get past that, the rest is easy. So please give it a try ♪
【Tanabata】
Tanabata, also known as the Star Festival, is a traditional Japanese festival celebrated on July 7th. It commemorates the
romantic legend of two deities, Orihime (the Weaver Star) and Hikoboshi (the Cowherd Star), who are separated by the Milky Way and can only meet once a year on this day.
During Tanabata, people write their wishes on colorful strips of paper called "tanzaku" and hang them on bamboo branches along with other decorations. The festival is a time for making wishes and celebrating love and hope.
