This is without a doubt, one of the best videos on KZbin I've seen using the Squeeze, I've been using it for a while , but not really leveraging like this, more of a confirmation, but I like swing trading, especially in the retirement accounts. I have a trading account that I use for my daily trades, but with the retirement accounts, I like longer trades that I don't have to continuously keep an eye on. I will add this, I like starting with the major ETF for the sectors then drilling down from there to find stocks that are driving it.

Is there much of a telltale difference between the squeeze pro and the squeeze?
@stevehebert21893 жыл бұрын
@@brettglover5939 I've studied them both side by side extensively - no big difference, Only difference is addition of Black and orange dots, Black dots = weak squeeze, the regular squeeze indicator would not show that, (I really am not interested in a weak squeeze) If black dot goes red - you see that in regular squeeze, Red dot goes to Orange = deeper squeeze, this is about the only thing I think is of value, knowing it is in a deeper squeeze. (regular squeeze indicator stays red) But - when triggering you will often see the green trigger dot sooner in the regular squeeze, (Because the pro often goes from red to black before turning green - delaying the trigger). The momentum bars are exactly the same - and since I use the first light blue momentum bar as trigger to get in - so my conclusion - only advantage is you know when you've gotten a deeper squeeze with the squeeze pro.

With naked calls there is theta decay, and will take most profit of just the theta decay, and usually squeeze takes weeks to fire and using put credit spread puts theta decay in your favor.

If you hit the squeeze right - straight calls will out perform spreads, But if you are a little unsure - spreads are more forgiving, and still not hard to get doubles with spreads.
@tron-nt4bi3 жыл бұрын
Is there a number of consecutive Daily Squeezes that you look for (e.g., squeeze has been going for 5 consecutive days)? With the free TTM Squeeze indicator on TOS, I see squeezes that have been going on for weeks, those don't seem like good setups to me, but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe the Pro version would eliminate those kind of signals? Do you always look for light blue to light blue transition on histogram or would yellow to light blue be a decent setup?
@stevehebert21893 жыл бұрын
Your first question - no set numbers of days for the squeeze to be a good legit squeeze (But I would be more cautious of a one dot squeeze) The weekly squeeze is a very powerful squeeze, but it can stay in a squeeze for a long time - Look at AMZN - was in weekly squeeze for 33 weeks - but when it finally triggered - oohhh weee, My favorite entry point is yellow momentum bars just turning light blue (first light blue bar) and stock at the 21 EMA (I personally think the longer the squeeze - the more pent up energy, daily or weekly)

How do you know which direction to pick during a squeeze?
@SimplerTrading3 жыл бұрын
"In terms of being able to gauge which way the squeeze will fire, I take a few other things into consideration. For one, the structure of the trend itself. Daily squeezes tend to fire to the upside with a greater probability when the stock is in a strong uptrend. To me, an uptrend is in place when the WEEKLY chart is above the weekly 21ema, with stacked ema. Once I find a trend, then I’ll look for my daily squeeze at the 21ema. The daily MUST have positively stacked EMA's, and I’ve found the green 10x bars to be very helpful as well. Once that all comes together, so long as the histogram is at least yellow, I’ll look to take my entry. Over the last 5+ years, I’ve had a 75%+ win-rate with this kind of setup. So of course, they don’t fire in your direction each time, but over the course of 20-50 trades, you will come out on top (so long as you manage the ones that don’t work properly!)" - TH

When I take a squeeze trade on the daily time frame, I check the weekly and monthly to see where the top of the bollinger band is at. It might look good on the daily but if the upper band on the weekly is just above and the upper band is FLAT, good chance the stock will get smacked down. The daily chart might have just come out of a squeeze but the weekly might still be in a squeeze. I avoid this type of setup.

@@JohnCillian Thanks for getting my stab! That said, John Carter IS basically a prophet with true squeeze spotting abilities (and the knowledge of the software to do it). And of course it's a time frame thing. Minutes vs months. Furthermore, I find the idea that a squeeze (a relative period of market consolidation and lower volume ?) is a "buildup of energy" a little misleading, even if it's conceptually useful. What's really going on here? I'd like to dig in more. Basically, money is made by trading at different prices, either up OR down, just as no one can go surfing without some waves. For this reason the market resists horizontals for too long. IDK. Is there more to it?
@herrickinman93032 жыл бұрын
"Squeeze" is just a flashy new name for very old trading concept known as "consolidation." People have been trading consolidations and breakouts from consolidations since before your great grandparents were born. All this "squeeze" indicator is telling you is what you can already see on the price chart without any indicator. You don't need ANY indicators to SEE when the stock is consolidating and when it's breaking out of a consolidation! FYI, there is no "energy" building up during a "squeeze." The notion that energy is building up is just marketing bullshit, fuzzy thinking and not knowing how to read a price chart.
