I don't blame Monica for shooting that creep. Not at all.

She would probably get off on extreme emotional distress. That tends to be a plea down to even probation, and forced psych help.

Brigid Brannagh is incredible as Monica in this episode. I can't watch her without crying. And the very end of the episode with the butterfly just makes me lose it every time.

This is an episode that I somehow overlooked, or never finished, or maybe I got busy or thought it was predictable or something. I finally went back to watch it and HOLY HEINZ 57 BATMAN

The unsub played in the show, Heroes. He was a complicated character. Not a villain, but not a saint either. This role is such a different role from that one.

27:38 by that logic you could ask the same question about therapists. People aren't saying we should stop making therapy available because listening to patients is mentally draining to the therapist. It just takes a person that can handle the job and is well trained. Very different situation, obviously, but same would apply with the death penalty.

One of the bleakest episodes... It's one I have to skip, if I'm not in the right mindset, and I still usually feel like throwing up the whole time I do watch it-.-

I know the real story this episode is based on, and honestly, the episode was so very toned down. I understand why of course.

Do you recognize the guy that took the mom? from the vampire diaries? It's funny..I think they had the same name. I don't think this is a spoiler since your done with the vampire diaries but correct me if I'm wrong

He also plays Noah Bennett in another TV show called "Heroes". I'd love to see that show added to the upcoming polls, if it hasn't been already

In my opinion, if someone took the law in their hands and killed somebody, I would put them in prison, thats my opinion

As someone who lives in California where we have idiots letting violent offenders out right and left, I’d rather they get taken out before they even make it to jail. Especially in cases like this one where there is such emotional distress that it might be the only way to get some closure for the victims.

I agree, I do NOT know law, and I’m sure it solved a lot of issues for the FBI afterwards, I know they were there, but that man just had a gun to her head and he had not been detained or cuffed yet. All the agents in that room had the authority to shoot, the only difference is that Monica’s not given authority by the government, right? But idk. If the FBI wasn’t there yet it would be considered self defense. I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same thing in a situation like that, though I hate the thought of ever having to kill anyone, even if the FBI was there I’d be scared out of my mind

Yeah but it's not like there's any reason to think she'd do it again I only think prison is an adequate punishment if you feel that this person is a danger to society if they are allowed to roam free
