12:16 just in case no one mentioned it yet: jared (= sam) wasn't supposed to warm his hands over the burning corpse. before filming the scene the director mentioned it was a cold night. jared misunderstood that he should show it was cold - so he warmed his hands over the flames and they kept it in the final cut :D

The actor Jensen Ackles has said that when playing dean he doesn't place him a box meaning that dean has no label, so there you go just food for thought.

The show in season 4 decided to keep Misha Collins because of his fan popularity, and killed off Anna instead. They were writing parallel story lines Dean with an angel on his shoulder Sam with a demon (Ruby) on his shoulder. This put them in the position of Castiel falling from heaven for Dean. This means they wound up writing a subtextual romantic trope as an Angel falling from heaven to be with at human is usually a "love" story. When they realized that many fans read this as a coded gay romance they didn't really know what to do with it, there have been several show runners and writing teams over the 11 following years and some wanted to lean into it and others away. It's in the interest of any show to keep as many fans watching as possible so they basically started writing it so you could interpret it both ways, this becomes more obvious as the seasons pass. They also did market research on it. It is fine to think that Dean is straight, it's also fine to thinks he is bi. Castiel isn't really male or female, his vessel is and he doesn't really have sexual urges as an angel, I think it's kinda obvious he has a devotional love for Dean that could be seen as romantic, I mean Castiel literally watches over Dean as he sleeps.

This is one of the big things I dislike about the show. I hate when things are left open to interpretation just because they wanted to make all fans happy. It’s your story, tell it. I love that they kept Cas, and I love that him and dean have such a close relationship. But the “gay love” bull is just terrible writing because of how and why they’re applying it.

@@Slappys technically angels are genderless, Castiel's vessel (Jimmy Novak) is a man, so they refer to him as one. This is mostly because it's easier in the consistency of the show. Just like how Raphael is still a "he" even in a woman's body

This is one of my top favorite episodes of season 8. The bunker is the best set to ever exist, and this episode just has a really cool story to it.

No one (except Jensen) KNOWS if Dean is bi, most of the hints at it are covert. However CW conducted a study to see how fans might react if Dean were to fall in love with Cas. Those studies are quite costly and are only run if the studio is nervous about a choice the writers, directors and relevant actors want to make. So... At some point Jensen, Misha, the writers and directors all thought the story was going that way.

I love Aaron, played by Adam Rose. He gives me Andy Gallagher's vibe and I'm all for it. The gollum in itself could be a powerful ally and the relationship between Aaron and the gollum would be on interesting to explore : the 'servant" that should be the teacher but can't or doesn't want to vs the "master" that is clueless and reluctant...

Perhaps the grandfather of Aaron Bass visited Prague in his youth and met that same Prague Golem, otherwise how would he have learned the secret of creating the Golem. According to legend, he rises every 33 years, and this series may also be based on a World War II legend that happened in Prague, it tells about a Nazi soldier. who climbed into the attic of the Prague synagogue in search of the Golem, but eventually died under unknown circumstances, it is possible that the same Golem still exists, we do not know.

I never got any of the shipping in this series. I know people got really deep and toxic with the shipping but I pretty much stayed out of it. I just enjoyed the story and didn't overanalyze any of the relationships.

I know that a lot of fans ship him and Castiel together but I honestly never saw it. I feel that Dean thinks of Castiel as a friend and as a brother. But Castiel is an angel and his ideas about love and relationships are definitely more fluid as a result. If anything, it's one-sided.

Those of us who see Dean as potentially bi saw typical "bi panic" in that interaction lol, a somewhat stereotype of bi people is that we're generally quite awkward and panicky when it comes to flirting lol. As a bisexual myself, I see dean as bi. I just identify a lot with him. Probably with preference for women, but that's how I see it. No problem if you don't haha. Yes a lot of people ship Dean and Castiel, personally I never saw the "subtext" but to each their own. But for every Destiel shipper there was an even larger crowd of "Sean" shippers (I.e. Sam & Dean) who totally didn't care about the problematic, and toxic, implications that come from pairing of two biological brothers. But the most shocking thing about Supernatural is that the fanbase spawned an entirely new genre of romantic fan-fiction called "Omegaverse" which has since expanded across the globe. Omegaverse is...not for everyone, but if I have to know it exists then so do the rest of you. It can even be found in Manga, Light Novels, and Visual Novels. My point, never underestimate the confounding power and influence of shippers.

Dean isn't actually bi tho. It's shippers who want him to be bi for the sake of their ship, which is find very fetishising IMHO. Moreover, Dean at the beginning of the show even had toxic masculinity views, but thankfully was getting rid of it as the show went on. In this case, please refer to the statements made by actors of the show and show producers, cause fans often dwell on delusions 😅

Ben Edlund: Yeah. Phil Sgriccia: It was so much fun to shoot that because he played it so right down the middle, you know, just more awkward about it. Ben Edlund: Oh, yeah, yeah. Phil Sgriccia: Like, *Wow, somebody likes me.* Ben Edlund: Well, that’s the weird thing is that it reads in this weird way where it does feel like Dean’s a little bit like-It’s almost like a *romantic comedy kind of fluster*. Which is very interesting for the character Dean, because it just sort of suggests this weird [laughs] this *potential*. Phil Sgriccia: [laughs] *This potential for love in all places.* Ben Edlund: *Oh, Aaron and Dean, they could come together. He’s had a rough life. He’s a hard character to, to, you know. Jensen himself said that he doesn’t put dean in a sexuality box, so we can’t assume he’s straight or bi. It makes sense that he’s semi bisexual, but again, no specific box.
