Simplest Plastic Bottle Cutter - DIY

I needed a lot of strong rope. However, I did not want to make a complex instrument. This bottle-cutter can be made in a few minutes from a cap from a plastic bottle. Unlike well-known designs, it does not require you to choose bottles. He cuts everything.

I just found a video about the use of rope cut from bottles and thought it could be handy in outdoor use especially for repairing stuff. However the tools others used were too big to considder taking them in the backcountry. This idea is brilliant, I only need to carry a blade like that which might be useful in other situations as well. And hope the bottle i salvage has the cap still to it. :) Thanks a lot.

Hi, thanks for the device. It works quite good but people should be carefull making it safely because you could cut yourself quite easy because not all those plastic lids have the same size and composition... OK, all the best.

I have tried so many different designs, our North American water bottles are too light and flimsy for them to work properly. I don’t drink pop so will have to find different bottles somewhere

This is a big problem if you have a lot of bottles without caps. Do not throw the lids ahead of time. :)
