Thank you! It was the unscrewing the barrel part just a little bit to get the air out to fix my problem.

If this was an initial setup with cartridge installation would I expect to have to pump much more than the @ 10 times he pumped to try to get all air out, but before he tightened the head assembly (which had been loosened for the priming process)? Also, does anyone pack grease into the head assembly initially to try to reduce the available unoccupied space for air to be trapped?

Dude... thank you for this video. I was loosing my 💩. I almost threw this brand new gun through a wall.

I've been going through KZbin looking at videos on loading and reloading a grease gun particularly, the small miniature grease guns. Your video is the only one that showed priming the grease gun. I have thrown out a grease gun in the past because it wouldn't pump the grease. I have wasted several partial tubes of Grease because the gun wouldn't pump grease and I thought that it was because of only half a tube of Grease. Prior to watching your video I did a basic prime of my miniature grease gun cuz it was the only thing I hadn't thought of doing yet. I then watched a number of KZbin videos all of them except yours lacking the step of priming. My grease gun is pumping Greece. Maximus Prime! Google voice recognition sucks I'm not making changes....

Speaking of small grease guns. They have a foil covering on the tube outlet. I made the mistake of removing that foil before inserting it in the gun tube. The clearance of the grease tube to the gun tube was so snug that pushing the grease tube in ejected about half of the grease. What a mess. I noticed all the videos that the grease tubes easily slid/dropped in as in this video.

Hey MarzMan, great videos! I wanted to comment and ask a question on another one of your videos. The video with Carrier Motormasters and ComfortLink, what is the wire code for the black yellow and blue wires for L1, L2, L3? I see it on contactors for compressors and motormasters. I've never this color designation. But then again, I haven't had my head in many chillers and HVAC as to remember.

Thank you for this. So, from what I'm seeing, you're only concerned with the air gap at the top (where the metal tab is), and not the bottom of the canister?

The plunger plate meets the grease at the bottom.

I don't care what any of y'all say, there is something else to this. I have been screwing around with a brand new grease pump for an hour now and have watched at least eight different videos on KZbin and none of them work!

I've literally repeated these instructions six times and it does not work. I've tried every variation you can possibly try of doing this. Nothing works.

Same. I don't think my plunger is connected to the rod or something like that but every time I take the grease out and move the rod around it seems right. I think you're supposed to twist the rod or something like that and it should connect to the plunger but it isn't working for me :/ I ended up just leaving the stupid thing upside down overnight and gravity did all the work for me :)

Try this: Pull the T handle (plunger handle) out slowly and try to feel when you pulled past the internal plunger, then turn the handle only 1/4 turn. Now push the T handle inward and If it connected properly you will be able to feel a strong resistance. This means that you are pushing the internal plunger. If you have a bleed screw then open it while you push the internal plunger and this will require a fairly strong effort. Unscrewing the barrel a turn or two will also allow an air bleed effect. I have pushed the internal plunger by setting the T on a bench and pulling down on the barrel because it was easier to put some controlled muscle into it. While applying strong pressure to the plunger, pump a few times (handle or trigger if electric grease gun). Understand that some people have no problem with loading the grease, but not all grease is the same viscosity and that is part of the challenge issue. Higher viscosity grease is harder to push out the air pockets. Often hidden internal air pockets is why a gun begins to quit pumping grease and bleeding may become necessary again.

Make sure your plunger plate fits inside the tube. You may be buying a tubeless grease gun (plunger plate is the entire circumference of the canister)
@kyledupont7711 Жыл бұрын
Try taking the hose off. If there is pressure in the hose it won't prime no matter what you do. Another tip is to take the bleeder valve all the way off. Just be careful because Grease will come out very quickly if you don't hold back on the plunger, don't retract the plunger and draw air back in while you screw the valve back on, just pull back on it enough to keep it from shooting all the grease out
@kyledupont7711 Жыл бұрын
You may have to remove the hose and take the bleed valve all the way off, grease will come out of the hole if you dont pull out the pluger. Dont pull the plunger back too much and suck air back in, just let some ooze out and screw the valve back in, once its pumping put the hose back on. Don't forget to hold back on the plunger or you will have a hell of a mess

On the body of my grease gun there is very small hole in the top two threads. For the first time, I have grease leaking out of that "weep" hole. The grease cartridge appears to be damage free so I'm not sure why grease is coming out of that little hole. It does stop once I relieve the pressure on the tube....... any ideas?

Are you able to tighten the plug anymore?
@hdtv27ew13 жыл бұрын
@@charleston51010 As tight as I can get it by hand. This puppy is old but I use it all the time and never noticed the tiny hole right near the top of the threads. I thought maybe a damaged cartridge at first, thou I couldn’t find a dent or nick, so I popped a new cartridge in and it is doing the same thing. I was just curious if anyone else ran into this, might be time for a new one. We use this one for our boat trailers and boat lifts…….

I recently bought a new grease gun, and a new tube of grease. Thought I got all the air out, servicing the bearings on my trailer, out of nowhere it stopped pumping grease. Now I can't get it to prime at all. Very frustrating!
@charleston510103 жыл бұрын
Completely unscrew the top with the hose. Put it back on,but don't tighten it all the way. Start pumping it as if you're greasing your bearing. After about 10 to pumps tighten the cap and you should be good to go
@marynollaig41242 жыл бұрын
Chinese junk. They would break you heart. Some will pump half the grease out and stop. There is a big industrial one which works I hear. Why can't they make a screw on nipple?
@timmytool12313 жыл бұрын
This is the fifth vid I have watched, I have a feeling my brand new medium priced gun is bad. It will not prime. I've tried every thing, nest step may be throw it in the lake if it floats I'll keep it. My next and last move is to manually add grease to the head and try that. I have a little valve on top, tried that, tried not tightening the barrel to allow grease, nothing.

This guy seems so butt hurt making a video about how to load a freaking grease gun which gotta be the easiest thing in this world to do, if you are some kind of repair tech and you don't know how to do this without watching a video I would think about a new career, I'm here because my brand new pneumatic Lincoln grease gun don't work, but this video had nothing to do with what I'm having an issue with just for the record🙄
