Hi ... Good explanation... Thanks.... A doubt though... If in the step 3 for solving degeneracy if instead of 1/8, we had -1/8 then, Which row would we select? One where we got 0 or one where we got -1/8? Hoping for a speedy reply

thanks......but what is we have 3(S1,S2,S3) slack variables and one slack variable is no more a basic variable and X3 is basic variable in place of X3 after certain iteration......then what should be sequence of caparison for avoid degeneracy, quick reply will be helpful........

If we give the priority to the slack variables first, then don't we always get the 2nd row as the outgoing row? Then whats the point in checking so? What if we have 3 rows that have equal minimum ratios and the values , in step2, of row 2 and row 3 will obviously become the same, 0. Then how do we decide the outgoing row?

I am not sure.... according to rule 3 (for if row tied or degeneracy case) we can move to decision variable column for comparison... if we cant find from slack variable column ... we may get from decision variable column.... isn't it?
