What a fun looking build!! I had one of these as a kid! I traded a friend for the YZ-10 roller chassis for my Losi JRXT and a Losi MTM (i believe it was a 19 turn 'modified) motor. One of the coolest cars I ever owned!!

Very nice build video, it was like building mine all Over again watching that ;) I’ve spoken to a few racers and they think the transmission will hold up to 10.5 brushless motor no problem. Some of them run there OG versions like this. Think yokomo are just protecting themselves a bit. Look forward to the finished article ;)

Awesome build video. When this kit was first announced I was 😮 on how much it cost and thought about not getting it for my collection…then it hit me, I paid about that much for my 2011 Avante, that’s still waiting to be built. Another great video Gav! Can’t wait to see this on Noob goes racing!

Thank you for making the effort to make this video. Very enjoyable IMO. No disturbing music and real wrenching 😊. I would like to build one of these but the price is too much especially because you need 3 Tamiya tool sets 0:12 😂

Masterfully done. Quick question, I'm building mine and on page 9 when building the rear suspension arms it says to use the "Right" steering block on the left side when building the rear left suspension arm. Am I reading that correct? Basically flipping them around. Thanks.

I load of after market options available for the 870c now. A quick Google will bring up a few choices for you. I would go with one that has the battery on the opposite side to stock, as having the battery and the motor on the same side of the buggy isn't the best for handling.
@kentb31758 ай бұрын
Quite a detailed build, thanks but this Yokomo just leaves me a a bit cold perhaps it is because I'm such a massive Yokomo nerd and the 870c was my first serious buggy - I'm going to give this a pass unless the price comes down. #Nerdfact you needed to remove the front tower to access the diffs on the original and works models, they made the towers taller which seems odd as the shocks are also shorter.
@craigbailey70968 ай бұрын
Compared ro the materials used in the 87 mid to me the yokomo is about £150 over priced which it is in Japan guess yokomo are subject to to the same issue as tamiya with massive price difference between Japan and Europe funny how kysoho are simaler priced both in Japan and Europe guess the importers are making a nice slice of the pie

I wouldn’t use my tool collection as a starting point, I have a load of old junk tools I just had when I started out and for some reason haven’t replaced lol. if you will be building Tamiya, Kyosho or any kit using hex, the Tamiya tool set is a good start for not a load of money. I have a discount code from a channel sponsor so it can save you 5% off everything and free UK shipping rochesterrc.uk/link/1503 I would come and join the “Just for RCKicks” Facebook page as it’s a great place to ask all kinds of questions on all things RC. 👍🏻

Do you think taking 2 of the bevel gears out of the diff really makes a difference? Most people would notice and it could actually unbalance the rotation of the diff

As far as I was told, it’s to improve the rotation in corners. I had my B6.4 like this and it never gave me and vibration issues. My driving isn’t good enough and I never run comparisons at a track to really see.
