Informative video! I just got into these machines and I'm still learning. Now have a 5212.5H, 5216, 4211, 6111, and 5216H. 42 decks, 36 and newer black/orange 36. And the grass catcher with belt driven blower. Would like to find a 48 and the double pulley I need for blower. So far they seem like great little machines but the decks seem too thin since they crack and wear holes in them.

@@jesse6249 I’d walk the belt over the rear 1st. Over the fan but not on the pulley. That should give you enough to go over the stack pulley up front. If not try placing belt over bottom of front pulley and then to back. I don’t believe I have any videos to help and don’t have a tractor to make one now. Thanks

My simplicity 6216 has a short chain and a longer chain. One is 3 links the other is like 5. Do they both have a spot to be hook onto? Or is it only 1 chain hooked to the lift lever? Maybe i just got a extra chain with my mower purchase and its not used?

Hello question on my 6118 as you can see I have the tiller and mower installed at the same time I can cut grass with the tiller on I just raise the tiller I haven't tilled with the mower on and I don't I dont plan to the lever I use to raise the tiller with is also the lever you would use to raise the mower with question is how do I raise the mower for transport would I have to install the separate lever that you displayed on the smaller unit the the hardware is on the mower where you could attach the chain I was just hoping there would be an easier way without having to take the tiller off any ideas

Great video. I've got a "Frankenplicity" 4000 series originally 12.5 HP re-engined (previous owner) with a 16HP B&S. 42" deck. Just finished changing plugs, filters (air and gas), armature, solenoid, and starter. Engine now starts and runs sweetly. But, now am throwing the belt. Have a long lever on the right side which also seems to raise or lower the deck, rollers stay in same position (down) relative to deck. Any comments? Thanks for this video.

I did same with a 4212. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmmpqatmnrCKmdU. The lever on the right is for transport mode. To lift the rollers off the ground. The cut height adjustment (height of the rollers) is the handle on the right on the deck itself. Not sure if that answered the question or not. Let me know if I can be of more help. Thx a lot! It works if mowing a tight cut at a high deck position (spindle assy for 4000-series is lower than 5000-series, needs rebuild to fit 100%). Please let me know if you have a spare to sell or a 48" deck. Br

Hi. I have a 5212.5 with a 36" deck. new to me. What size belt do I need? It also seems like I should have a bigger deck size. Is there anything in the pulley system that I should look out for? Something that would break the belt.

Good morning, belt size for the 36" deck is Simplicity 2108505 (Superseded to 1727773SM) V-BELT HA 070.10. 5000 Series came with 36,42,48 decks. Make sure all the pulley move freely and aren't noisy. Make sure the idler pulleys are aligned well too. If the belt is too tight when engaged that will eventually break the belt from heat. Either idler pulley is locked or your engagement rod is not adjusted properly

How to change the pto belt for a4212 simplicity snowblower attachment

I just picked up a 42" deck for my 6216 that I recently purchased that only came with the snowblower. I noticed that there is a belt keeper going across the front deck pulley. It springs back against the belt. Does that supposed to rub against the belt all the time like that? Would think it would rip the belt all up. Also where I bought the deck, I'm going to buy the 6211 tractor the deck came off of, for a parts tractor. It has good tires and rims, and the transmission is good. Plus all the body components are good. It comes with two 11hp Briggs engines that don't run. Still debating if I will rebuild them or not. Anyway just wanted some input about that belt keeper. Thanks

I believe that is part of the belt stopping mechanism. When you engage the deck it should pull back away from the belt and then when disengaged it should help slow the deck from spinning. Thanks for watching!!!

@@LawnGardenFun I haven't put the deck on yet, I have to replace the left side pulley. When moving the lever it doesn't move it back at all. I'll have to relook at the parts list. Maybe there's another bracket I'm missing the pushes against the end of the keeper.

Well, start with easy stuff like check the engagement lever under the seat is in the correct position. Check that the belt is on properly and check that clutch/brake pedal is moving the rods underneath. Otherwise, you probably have air in the system but I’m not sure how to cure that. You can try my tractor forum or the simplicity facebook group as well.

how do you remove the trans pulley on a 4208? I have the drive axle out of mower and the set screw out of the shaft. am I missing something or is it just pressed that tightly on? I was try to pound it off but no movement

Do you mean put the little handle back on? You should be able to use the big handle that you use the snow blower.

W1WEASEL Yes, I was trying to put the original small deck lift handle back on. I could not get the deck to stay up.I have the newer snowthrower rob but it's the newer black one. I have the plates but not sure how to put together. I have a parts guy I am going to buy an original simplicity deck handle it has the mower deck lift already on. Thank you your videos taught me how to put the snow thrower on my 4211. It works great in big snows. We only had one big storm this year in Souderton PA.

Oh, I've done that before. Unfortunately, I don't have the tractor anymore so I can't show you. But basically you have the belt going the wrong direction over the trans pulley. Just reverse that and you should be good.

You mentioned a 42" deck can fit (with a few adjustments). I have an RTH (Basically a 4200H)...I have 42" deck lined up from a 6010 and just wondering --- other than the deck what other parts should I take from the 6010 to make the switch easier - such as the PTO rod, hitch, etc. Thanks.

You don't have to turn it on it's side. I don't like doing that for fear of fluid running out and or getting into places it shouldn't. Just take pictures before hand and take your time. If I can do it, you can do it.
