This pants pattern is by far my favorite. It is so easy to put together, yet looks so expensive and far better than anything I have seen in the stores. I love them!

I adore this pattern! Went to several of my favorite fabric shops and they were completely sold out of this lovely pattern. I am a 65 year old and plan to make a few adjustments to make it more age appropriate, such as lengthening the top and making the straps just a bit wider. Thank you providing a sew-along. I love your channel. Thank you

That’s my problem too! I want to join her sewing academy to learn to sew, but so many of the styles are not age appropriate for a 64 year old; I don’t have enough sewing experience to alter them to make them appropriate. Quite the dilemma.

I love this pattern and I have successfully made two very nice pairs of pants from it - BUT I can’t wear either of them. I am an advanced sewer- I am an accurate size 10 with proportionate features. I made a size “12” and they fit beautifully.. except juuuust barely the waist….. so I made ANOTHER pair and made them a 14/16 thinking they might be a little big- they were just as tight at the waist - if not tighter and the thighs were the only part of the pants that got bigger :( and I’m so disappointed. It seems like maybe it’s the front pleats for the size 10-16 that makes the sizes untrue? I’m not sure.. I’m thinking of *sadly* ripping the seams of the waist band, and removing 1 if not both of the front pleats, making maybe a *tiiiiiiny* single pleat on both sides for shape, and seeing how that works.. what would you say Mimi G!??! you are the pro! :)

LOVE IT do you ever do plus sizes or do you know of anyone who does sew along for us curvy ladies thank you
@louiselill15284 жыл бұрын
Depending on the size you need you can enlarge the pattern for the trousers quite easy just look at the seams and measure one of the sizes ie if 22 then you can just follow the lines by adding more I think for larger it's quater inch can't quite remember hence the measurements then you just add more lines to enlarge The pattern you might also have to alter crotch depth depending on the size you need if not sure what I mean look on KZbin for grading pant sizes for plus sizes hope this helps and I haven't totally confused you lol

All I do it cut a 12 at the waist and grade out to a 14 or sometimes 16 at the hip.
@handsome.hailey2 жыл бұрын
Ohhhhhhh see I didn’t know she sizes up for the waist!! That makes total sense. I’m a size 10- I should sew a 12 (it fits nicely) and then fit maybe a generous size 16 waist band, because the labeled size 12 or 14 still doesn’t fit :( LOVE your pattern Mimi!!!!! I’ll figure it out! Lol!!!

Do you go through the fitting and alterations of your creations anywhere? That's what I struggle with more than the sewing.

I wear a size 12 pant, when I measured my hip it measured 42" am I right in ordering a size 14 ?
@CurvyGirlsareChic4 жыл бұрын
Mary Rautenberg although the pattern measurements provide a measured size you should always measure your pattern pieces. For instance on a size 14 the front may measure 12” across on each side and 11” for the back. You add those together then subtract for the seam allowance and ease. If that number is larger than your hip but not by much I would sew as is and make your adjustments later. If they are smaller you need to add that much more to your pattern pieces. Let’s say it’s an 1” I would add at least 1/2” more to EACH pattern piece.

I am considering trying a garment. I am curious if an overcast and cut foot can take the place of a surging machine for the purposes of learning to do this kind of thing. Can anyone explain the additional benefits an actual surging machine offers? Keep in mind if I need an additional $500 machine to make clothing I'll just keep to masks and quilts lol. Also I've merged the Mimi G mask with the Olson mask to make an extremely fashionable and functional face mask with a filter pocket. I'll post the pattern soon.
